1989 Mustang Drag Car with 351W!

Thought I'd share. This is not my car but rather a friend's that I have been working on with him for years. Convinced him to go EDIS with megajolt. Drag racers are funny, they all are very suspicious of anything not made by MSD. Had its first start on EDIS the other day and the owner is very very ha...

I think I may have found a potential donor for the set-up. 1991 chevy s10 pick-ups have a nice almost stand-alone abs where the module, HCU, and prop valve are all mounted to the master cylinder on a bracket.

Lots more tinkering before anything real materializes.

Triggger input to the rev limit module?

I am curious, what is the trigger input that mjlj sends to the rev limit module? Is it ground or a logic level 5v? PWM?

The nice thing for me here is that I do have a lot of experience with abs thanks to my training. I understand the systems very very well. The trouble is finding an hcu from a system that is not integrated with other systems like integrated vehicle dynamics. Basically need to find one that does not r...

Why not stand-alone abs??!?

I have thought about this for some time and what I would like to see is an aftermarket stand-alone abs controller. My idea is that the end user would need to source a common abs HCU (hydraulic control unit) and do the install and plumbing. Then it would be a case of figuring out how to mount the whe...

My youtube account is lame so my brother in-law posted the video he made. Shameless self promotion. All the cool kids are doing it.

as many have already said, nice engine bay :) Could you say how you got your weber-bodies painted ? Did you mask up all the brass bits and just hit them with a spray can or is there some other method ? I have a set of triples I'd like to get color coded, but hopefully without pulling them down firs...

So the poor old car had a small problem. The 37 year old charging system external regulator shorted to ground and spiked the voltage. It caused some damage to the mjlj rendering it inop. Obtained a new V4 unit and success! Also retrofitted a 1982 internally regulated alternator into the car. Video f...

That is likely true but I haven't seen a system with a built-in serial port for at least 6 years. We have a very effective electronics recycling program combined with very techy people in Victoria.

I'll give it a try, thanks Brent! Right now the mjlj is mounted on the right kick panel so the adapter sits on the passenger seat when the car is running. The nice thing at least is this issue doesn't prevent me from changing settings it just prevents datalogging.

Oh, forgot to mention that if you close the laptop to enter hibernate and then open it again, the configurator communicates again for maybe another 30seconds and then freezes.

Minor issue with timeout after connection

I just installed my new V4 mjlj to replace my damaged V3 mjlj. Had a friend put the kit together and used a 9V battery with my wife's windows 7 laptop to upload my first map. Worked just fine! I even figured out how to make windows 7 load new firmware ( but it turns out it was already loaded). Anywa...

So this is simply a function based on a reference value of an aux input? So in most cases it would something like say a coolant temp sensor or intake air temp sensor that accomplishes the triggering of the advance correction table?

Understanding Advance Correction?

I have noticed this new sub-menu in the V4 configurator. Can someone please explain in a little more detail how this function works? Is it a control for the interpolation between load or rpm bins? If so then, how does each value affect it?
