I used a 4-core burglar alarm cable for pip/saw and to the TPS. It was about the thinnest wire I've ever had to strip but works fine. We're not running huge currents here.

Ah, ok, in that case it sounds like the things mentioned above (or the timing is very, very wrong).

EDIT: Just a thought, you say it's not as bad at revs. Could it be that your bracket resonates at idle and wobbles the VR sensor all over the place?

Lots of carbs spit back, it's not uncommon when they're less than perfectly set up. I'd look at your carbs first because as you say it should spark at the right time or not at all.

I don't feel the soft limiter on mine. It screams straight up to the hard limit when it immediately starts popping and banging and feels like a sack of spanners has replaced my engine.

I'm always wary of using lead free solder in a high vibration environment. If you do use it, use it well. It might be wise to add some extra dampening/padding under the unit once in place. I've seen loads of faults caused by lead free solder cracking.

Set it to zero. It's not worth the hassle. Put marks on the trigger wheel and go off that.

Has this been mentioned before? Is there enough free memory on the next generation board's processor to log data for later download?

The megajolt already has memory for 2 maps. It sounds as if it should be simple to read alternately from each (if the map switching can happen fast enough) and send alternate SAW signals down one of the user out lines with a little rewiring. I wouldn't want to tackle it though!

That's the one I used. Check it before you use it though - I had to change the rev limit and modify the load bins because they're set stupidly for no apparent reason.

Yes. As I said, that might run into problems at high rpm when one coil may be charging as the other fires.
