Scrub that I've fixed it. It had started sounding so much like a failed head gasket between 2&3 that I was going to do the gasket despite the pressures being good. The cause of the mis fire was in fact a failed joint on the coil plug which was intermittently cutting two cylinders, now fixed and ...

Odd mis fire is getting me down...

Hello all, I've had a MJ4 fitted to my Midas kit car for nearly two years now, until the last few weeks everything has worked beautifully. Recently though I've been getting a slight mis fire when the car is warm and as time has gone on it's gradually become worse to the point where it feels to be ru...

Just to say that Geoffs map is still providing sterling service in the Midas, it should be going on the rollers next month or early September and I'll post the resulting map.

Random question time....

I've just picked up an Mk1 Subaru Justy, for those of you not familiar with these they are a small 4x4 car, and this is the random bit, they have a three cylinder engine. Is there any way the MJ system could be adapted to work on a three cylinder engine?

The default turbo map should get you up and running without risking any blow ups.

Watch out people or the fuzz will be on our tail, lol. Better keep within the speed limits from now on, ha ha ha. Seriously though it does't make much sense at all because like cng1 said, IF the edis module kept supplying sparks to the engine with no signal from the crank sensor then it wouldn't ta...

There are pics of the install in my earlier thread on the Midas http://www.autosportlabs.org/viewtopic.php?t=2494 the wheel isn't exposed under the car at all though I'm not currently running an undertray. I was driving on a clean, reasonably quiet road and I would put money on there not being any d...

I very distinctly heard something metallic twang off the floor of the car, the speed remained pretty constant between 65 and 70mph for a good hour afterwards. As I rolled up to the lights on the off slip it just died with no funny noises.

Ok, how does this work?

I've been running my V4 MJ for about six months now, no problems whatsoever until Sunday when my trigger wheel fell off just north of Bristol on the M5 when my welds failed  I know where it fell off because I heard it bounce of the underside of the car. My understanding is that once that happe...

I'd be tempted to fit the MAP option instead of using the TPS personally, unless your engine is a bit on the wild side.

Ryan, I've just pulled the needle on the Midas, it's a BA-. The third character has been scrubbed out for some reason and all you can see is the lower part of a vertical character which could be a 'T' or similar. There's no evidence of flats being filed into the needle so it's either standard or a v...

Ryan, I'll have a look at the needle tomorrow and let you know what's in there and whether it looks like it's been filed.

I've just pulled the original spec sheet for the engine but there's no mention of which needle was going in.
