351 Supercharged Cleveland Propane/LPG

Map1 day to day, Map2 towing caravan or used if LPG bad batch. Basically knocked out about 5% at full boost. Also found by pulling idle down to 8deg i can get idle to drop a lot lower and stablises, stops hunting.

The sensor can be mounted anywhere, so long as the gap is the required distance from it at TDC.

Yes typically 10deg more initial and max of 28 to 30 all in by 2800rpm. Then a normal petrol motor needs minus x deg per pound of boost. So with 5 lbs of boost you take off a far bit of advance, but then you add in the fact that LPG does everything weirder than petrol. People I've spoken to with SCs...

Start by unplugging the MJ, take the plugs out and put a timing light on it, you should see 10 deg or somewhere near that. If so that is good enough to start it.
If still popping, forget the thoery and just swap the leads around, there is only a few combinations. :?

Ignition Timing Less Than Zero

Hi
I am running a super charged 351 with LPG/Propane. On boost I'm down to one's and zero's for ignition timing and the engine is performing well. I want to go negative! Can this be set or do I trick it by setting the crank trigger offset positve? or would that be negative?

Hi I haven't had a close look yet but isn't the map sensor barb arond 3mm OD. If so how do you get 0.1 ID onto the barb. This may seem silly but does relate to a similar question I was about to ask. I have a blown motor, so I am running a tube under my dash that contains an explosive mixture of fuel...

Trigger wheel ford Cleveland V8

Alluminium stock turnrd down to hold TW and 8 groove pulley. Pickup not mounted yet but tooth marked with red dot shows where it has to go, so the two water pump snout bolts look like they have another job comming up.

Modified Dizzy

The dizzy was chopped of with about 15mm of shaft left protruding. A brass washer, steel ring and a roll pin were fitted to the shaft. The function of these is only to stop the dizzy falling to bits when you remove it. The black plastic cap is being replaced with an alloy cap next week.

Hi The reason I was using 95 and 98 was after searching for some info on electric water pumps extra, I found that the pumps are usually put to full speed 3C before calling for the fan. I guess to reduce noise and the fan may not be needed. So looking at your cct I can't see a problem with having a c...

Hi That makes sense. As you suggest the controller has a similar network to adjust the speed manually, so the two combined would give the required result. I wasn't sure what was better O/C the O/P of the controller (eg C/O relay) or earthing the O/P (the controller uses Mosfet and O/Ps earth). The n...

Hi A logic cct is a cool solution. O/P A simply alters the earth (via resisters) in the PCM cct that regulates the PW The water pump is PWM (Jaycay 10A/20A motor control kit). Are the diodes a problem if they are driving relays off the O/Ps? I would like to make it simple, hysteresis on each O/P wou...
