In the end I bought a USB Serial adapter from Emerald.

Worked first time I plugged it in! No idea why my old one stopped working!

I have the same issues as this. Worked fine with Windows 7, although that was several years ago.

Now, the same lead, MJ unit (although, tried 2 different ones) refuses to connect, even though Com Port is functioning correctly supposedly.

Can you link an adapter known to work on Windows 8?

Connection issue but terminal works

My Mini was running Megajolt for about 5 years before it came off the road. It's ready to go back on the road now, but I can't get the Megajolt software to connect to the Megajolt controller. I've used the same RS232 Prolific USB adapter as I always have. I have this installed in Windows 8, without ...

Anymore on this? Would love to get it running on my S3.

Or.... are there any Linux MJ programs that would run on a Raspberry Pi based car computer?

I see what you are saying - and no, I don't think it does help with peak power. I think the advantage is on a "lean burn" engine, where is deliberately setup slightly weak mixture to aid fuel economy. A lean mixture is harder to ignite, so perhaps the second spark is of use if the first do...

Any chance this feature is likely to be added to the MJ V4 units?

I am as much impressed by the economy benefits from MJ as I am from the performance benefits on the Mini. Adding this feature could allow a leaner idle mixture without a "lean misfire", so would increase MPG even further!

What happened to DIY MJ V4 units?

Hi, I was looking to get another MJ V4 unit for my girlfriend's Beetle (and maybe my Dad's Triumph aswell) as I've been so impressed with it on my Mini - but in the shop there only seems to be the fully built unit now? Can you not buy the DIY kit anymore? Is this because MJ2 is going to be released ...

Just to follow this up - Gen 2 coilpack works a treat, looks better aswell.

Also, Magnacore leads work fine, just have squeeze the ends in to fit tight on the smaller posts in the Gen 2 coilpack.

Has been running a month or 2 now and runs sweeter with no problems!

Ok, cheers for the link. However, the leads on Trigger wheels look far too long for my application, plus I already have Magnecore 8.5mm leads, and Magnecore's also have a 10 year warranty... so for the £5 I've paid for a 2nd Gen coilpack I'd rather give it a try than spend £25 on those leads.

Cheers, will give it a go and let you know how I get on! Hopefully can use my Magnecores then instead of the falling apart Fiesta leads I rifled from 3 different cars at the scappies!!

Is the VR sensor close enough? I had a prob with my Mini where it looked close enough, but kept misfiring - a quick look on the logs showed RPM values of 0. Moved the sensor closer and not one misfire 2,000 miles on! If it's "too" far away, it could be getting no signal at all... and hence...

Well, I hadn't even bothered trying that - had just assumed it was a dinosaur of a laptop and there was no hope! Also I didn't realise the extra features of the 3D tuning view. Laptop is an Intel Celery 1.8ghz, upgraded to 512mb ram and running XP home. Can't even tell what the graphics card is... a...

Thanks guys. Do you mean you can't use these on the standard "map" view? I cant use the 3D view because my laptop is crap and it instantly crashes if I try it!

MJ Software - shortcut keys?

Using the standard MJLJ software on my laptop - are there any "shortcut" keys available? I.e.: - Get map - Write Map - Commit Map - Increase value - Decrease value Would like to get someone sat in the passenger seat changing settings when I'm driving... but with uprated suspension (in a Mi...
