Yes, brand new laptop, running Windows 7 with all the updates

First laptop was a Panasonic CF-T5
Current laptop is an MSI Wind U130

Can load MJLJ under Wine on Linux but get similar error - debugging information wasn't much use

Yes, software (4.0.2) runs sweet as until I plug the MJLJ/E in - then it crashes.

Trying to get a response with Minicom on my Linux box as it's the only hardware I have with a hardware RS232 port but no joy so far

Still can't get the damn thing to work (MJLJ/E)

I bought a brand new MJLJ/E recently but when plugging it in with the program running, it just crashes with a Visual C++ runtime error. I have bought a new laptop (old one had Windows XP, new one has Windows 7) and a new FTDI USB/Serial adaptor and there is still no change. Is there anything else I ...

Update: just tried it on the voltage dropper and works fine! Can't wait for my new laptop to arrive so I can get the MJLJ wired in!

Pinzgauer - thrilled to bits!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OAkeqBt62fk I thought I'd be troubleshooting this all morning but it fired first time. It does sound rough but then I've been cranking the engine without any ignition to check various things so there was a lot of unburnt fuel about. It was also running without any chok...

Sorry to reply to my own post but whilst waiting for the above items to arrive, I had a play around with the original leads that were cut off but still attached to the coilpack I bought on eBay. With some silicone lubricant, a small screwdriver and with reference to the PDF file in the OP, I've conv...

Sorry about replying to my own post... Because I'd been an idiot and lined things up wrong, I had to take the trigger wheel off the pulley today. Thinking it would be a pig of a job because of the epoxy I'd used... however, one very gentle tap with a chisel and off she came! Good job I had used bolt...

Just thought I'd update this post with what I eventually came up with. The copper pipe you can see in the picture is a scrap piece that is soldered shut and can be easily replaced with a longer section once I come to install the MJLJ http://i277.photobucket.com/albums/kk76/richardspandit/IMG_0835.jpg

Annoyingly, my desktop PC runs Linux. I think I'll try to borrow another Windows laptop to see if that makes a difference. The Panasonic belongs to my workplace anyway (shitty laptop it is too). Thinking of buying an MSI Wave U135 to run in-car software (I've got EFILive for the kit car and an OBDII...

Haven't actually got the sensor/bracket yet but am going to make the latter like this one: http://www.goatwerks.com/images/EFI%20Pics/DSC07003.JPG It will bolt to the positions annotated on my other photo Think I might just end up redrilling the pulley - it's easier to drill and tap than the trigger...

Thanks for that - the one I'll make will be very similar to that. There's already a valve in the vacuum line for the purpose you mention

Thanks - any chance of a picture/description of what you mean? I've been told on certain Pinzgauer engines they have the vacuum attached here but don't know how

A better picture here (with hose and engine cover removed):
