Thanks for keeping us updated. Tell us what brand and model and if it works. @brent Maybe time to edit a "sticky" thread with the converters that work/don't work. This is quite a recurring problem and lots of people seem to run into the trap. I suggest a sticky post on top of one of the fo...

When I bought mine, there was a RJ11 to RS232 adapter delivered with. You can buy them separately in any electronic's shops, the wiring is available in the manual. From there you go to the serial to USB converter. Worked fine for me. Be sure to buy a converter with the FTDI-chip.
Cheers.

Hi Hendrik, If you have specific translation questions, you can PM me and I see what I can do for you. I even have some dutch buddies around who may help. The graphs in the manual are for the most self explanatory and they give about all the information you need for cabling and to know what signal c...

Hi Hendrik, Carefully read the Megajolt manual. What you intend to do (I think) is replacing the whole ignition part of your engine without touching the injection part (?). Therefore, you will also have to install the Ford EDIS 6 module which will fire the separate coils. The limp home mode is inter...

Hi Hendrik, I like your approach! You might be on the edge of building something unique. People did it, but maybe not that exact configuration you have. Have a look on this guy having kept injection on his Rover V8 and converting to Megajolt: http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=690068 An...

Hi Hendrik, No, I don't know any people doing so. On an existing installation, the ECU more than certainly manage ignition and injection. Somebody converting to injection will also, IMHO, install an ECU capable of both. I am currently converting to injection and I was tempted to keep Megajolt for ig...

Hi Hendrik, Without knowledge of the ECU and what it needs to operate, it might be trial and error. There is no reason why it shouldn't work with megajolt, the question is: how to make them work together. After all, the ECU manages ignition and injection accordingly and the map might not be accessib...

Hi Dean, Trouble is that everybody wants/needs a different set-up, has different skills both mechanical- and software-wise. In some point what you write is contradictory. Especially the EDIS point. If I got it right, the new generation megajolt will include its own ignition drivers and EDIS will be ...

Hi mower man, The usual resellers apparently don't sell a separate CD. If you have Internet access, you can download it to your PC and/or laptop. You can even copy it to a USB-stick and transfer it to another computer. It's an executable file with an .exe extension. Just feel free to install it wher...

Hi Brent, If right-handed is not a problem (could still be converted depending on the state of built) UK might be the cheapest way by far. A lot.
DTA, Emerald, Omex... a.s.o. Depends on how much quids you wanna spend and how far the tweaking should go.
Best is you opt for a system you can tune on a rolling road near where you live and known by the guys operating the RR.
Cheers.

Hi Brad,

Megajolt is IGNITION only, so it is perfectly normal that you cannot find any pins to drive injectors.
There is another product called Megasquirt, maybe you mixed up.
Cheers.
