found a short in the wiring which subsequently affected the tach to be lazy. All is well now. Thanks Brent.

is it possible the diode is shot? anyone?

Tach was efficient for a few weeks but the problem became more consistent over time. but yes..reading is consistently low now.

below is how I did my circuit.

My tach is not giving the correct readings at times. It's reading too low. Is this supposed to be a better option and replace the home made "diode circuit"?

Car is a BMW 2002 4cylinder M10 engine. Thank you
