I've thought again about your question and using an EDIS8 module instead of EDIS4 would not work. Since EDIS is a wasted spark ignition I thought you could use the wasted spark to fire the 2nd spark plug for every cylinder, which is possible. However, EDIS8 would trigger a spark every 90° as you've ...

What about getting an EDIS 8 for your setup? Since EDIS is wasted spark system, you just have to plug spark plugs accordingly. So I would get an EDIS 8 module, 2 coilpack as it is supposed to work with EDIS 8. You would have the peace of mind to know that your DIS sytem is up to the task. A member o...

I did not try changing map while I was driving. I usually stop somewhere safe, make the changes, load the map and go for a ride. I don't always stop the engine. to setup timing at idle, I did it with engine running, 2° step at a time until it reached max rpm. I'm usually by myself but if I would hav...

Hello, I think you need to educate yourself first. Please, do not take it as a rude comment, this is absolutely not my intent  We all start somewhere and your comment made me feel that you do not yet understand exactly how timing & knock work. Here are my best books. They are very well don...

Condition of the carbs could be checked with spark plugs shape, you should look at them.

Regarding how to make a map, check out my topic, you can see how I've done it from scratch.

We cannot answer with the data you've provided. How do the spark plugs look like? How is your ignition map? If the VR sensor installed properly, can it move? Are the carbs tuned properly? Do you have fuel going to the engine? Lines could be partially clogged, it fills the carbs enough to start and r...

Check the "how to" section, it is explained. I believe it is possible to plug a external MAP sensor instead of TPS. The other way around with internal MAP already set up might not be possible. If I recall correctly, you have to unsolder 1 resistance.

You're not alone but if we do not answer, it is mostly because we do not have the answer for you unfortunately.
So I'm looking but I've got not much to share besides saying: "please share some data, It's already interresting!" :D

Put some relays.
This is what I've done: I get power from battery but I've put a relay for each system which is controlled with ignition wire.
That's the way to do it. Add also some new fuses to your new harness.

That's a good write-up :D Get absolutely some good weathertight connectors for everything that could get wet/moisture under the hood. I've probably spent more time planning everything than doing the job done. Get organized, use colors for wires and as Klaus said, get some good crimping tools. Don't ...

I believe pin 7 & 9 are connected anyway inside the box. I'm running my setup with shield connected to pin #7 only (as you are) and it works flawlessly. All my grounds (EDIS module, MJLJ & relays are all connected at the same point which is directly connected to the battery. It shouldn't mat...

have you tried to log with Megajolt to check that it operates normally? You could check if RPM are still being read, check if timing is still normal. Are VR sensor bracket tight? Harness & wires are in good shape? Any loose connectors on EDIS module, EDIS coilpack, MJLJ plug? One pin could have ...
