Holley Terminator X ECU

Working on a new build and I'm researching engine control options. We're likely to get a stand alone and are hoping to get it pluged into our race capture with can bus. Our #1 pick right now is a Holley Terminator X. Initial research is not promising. The ECU does have a canbus interface for their d...

First off, big thank you to everyone who has contributed to the GEMS conversion script. It was very straight forward to use. I got two stints from our last ChumpCar race imported all the way and we have made some great progress already learning things from the data. There are a couple things really ...

Driver Temp

Has anyone got a working driver bio-metrics setup yet? My ChumpCar team is going to attempt an August race at vegas motor speedway. Heat is going to be our real challenge. Getting our rotary to finish is going to be a miracle. I'd also like to pay attention to our drivers too. I'd love to be able to...

T-Mobile Account Tips

A couple things I have learned from trying to setup my T-Mobile Account. SIM cards are free in store, but cost $10 online. To setup online access to your account, you MUST be able to receive a text message on your new account. If you don't have a GSM phone (like me), that means finding one to setup ...

Ironically, I even have an RX7 with a stock steering angle sensor... but I welded an aftermarket wheel to the splines on the steering column and the sensor no longer works or fits. If there was a solution easier that redoing our whole steering column that would be welcome.

Brake Sensors

Two data points I'm dying to get are brake pressure (what kind of input are we getting from the driver), deceleration (how much energy are we dissipating), and brake temp (how effectively are we shedding that energy that we turned into heat). Decel should be easy with the built in sensors. Brake pre...

I always follow all directions sent to me in e-mail.

Just posting to say Hi. I run a ChumpCar team on the west coast, Apex of Failure. We have been building a home-brew data logger (or I should say, chris on our team as been) for a year or so now. Turns out is really hard. I'm looking forward to getting our race capture system up and giving back to th...
