Re: RC Track intermittently freezes while driving
@brentp strange thing is, after it loses connection, it's usually restored with a power cycle of the RasPi dash and RC Track. Meaning, I don't touch the connection. This is why I suggested an improvement opportunity to periodically attempt connection re-initialization when the RasPi senses that UTC ...

Re: RC Track intermittently freezes while driving
Yes, when it freezes there is a flashing red light on the housing of the RC Track Mk2. This time when it happened I removed the mini USB from the RC Track and re-inserted it. That triggered the RasPi to re-initialize the connection and data resumed, for a short while until it happened again. Doesn't...

Re: RC Track intermittently freezes while driving
It has nothing to do with a laptop being connected. The dash values froze after idling the car for a few minutes in the garage, not even while driving. Just the RCTrack Mk2 and the RasPi dash. The Raspberry Pi app is fine, it's still responsive. The dash values freeze, as in the RC Track freezes. Sc...

Re: RC Track intermittently freezes while driving
No, it's not the wiring because if I don't touch anything, and just power cycle the unit then it's fine, for a little while. But if I reboot the RPi app the connection is not restored. This is why I think the problem is actually with the RC Track device itself.

RC Track intermittently freezes while driving
I don't know if I have a defective RC Track device, or if the whole USB connection to Raspberry Pi just isn't reliable. The display always seems to freeze on me while driving. Always seems to happen within about 40 to 50mins of driving. Logs attached, though I don't know how helpful they are since t...

Re: RPi double keyboard press when editing GPS coordinates
Did some experimenting, it does in fact appear to be caused by the [input] configuration. The Raspberry Pi Tips suggested this: [input] mouse = mouse mtdev_%(name)s = probesysfs, provider=mtdev hid_%(name)s = probesysfs, provider=hidinput #%(name)s = probesysfs, provider=hidinput The last line is comme...

RPi double keyboard press when editing GPS coordinates
When editing the GPS coordinates for autoX start/finish position in the Racetrack menu, there is a double button press from the kivy keyboard. This happens with the current Raspberry Pi 2.3.0 app, and happened with the previous version. So if I hit 5 on the virtual kivy keyboard 55 appears in the co...

Re: Raspberry Pi 2.2.1 app freezes
The situation where it was slow/unresponsive/froze was when editing the GPS coordinates for autoX start/finish points under the RaceTracks menu.
It seems a little better now with the 2.3.0 version.

Re: Raspberry Pi 2.2.1 app freezes
Maybe "freezes" isn't the best word. Could be unresponsive, or even slow. I've noticed a few times when trying to edit the autoX start/finish GPS positions that the app becomes unresponsive, and then comes back after a few minutes. No, I don't believe I'm the only one. A short search in the rc-app-v...

Re: Raspberry Pi 2.2.1 app freezes
Is the log file the racecapture.log and racecapture.log_last under /home/pi ?
If so, attached are the log files.

Re: Raspberry Pi 2.2.1 app freezes
Where is the application log file saved? If I SSH into the Raspberry Pi, where do I find this file? Seems to be two different kinds of freezing going on. 1. dashboard freezes in the middle of driving. This happens intermittently at various intervals. 2. app freezes when entering Setup -> Race Tracks...

Raspberry Pi 2.2.1 app freezes
The Raspberry Pi 2.2.1 app rather frequently freezes when in dashboard mode. The dashboard stops updating until I exit the app which reboots it. This is using the latest Raspberry Pi 2.2.1 app, with Raspberry Pi 4 and official touchscreen, hard wired to the RC Track Mk 2 which is running latest 2.18...

Lua script crashes through Raspberry Pi app
Not sure if this should go in the Lua script forum, or the Raspberry Pi forum. My Lua script runs fine when flashed through the Windows version of the Racecapture app. But when the config is updated via the Raspberry Pi touchscreen, it crashes. zipped version of the .rcp config is attached. If I had...

Where are "Saved Sessions" saved?
I've got a "Saved Session" which I logged using the RaceCapture App 1.16.2 on my Windows tablet. This was logged from the RC Track Mk2, which doesn't have an option for logging per se. I want to move a particular saved session over to a real computer for analysis. Where are the "Saved Sessions" save...

Re: How does Raw Mapping Offset and Bytes work?
I haven't tried any PID mapping so this is a more general answer. Offset is basically the distance from origin, in bytes. So if the information you want resides in the second byte, Byte 1 (numbering typically starts with 0), and is only one byte long, the offset would be 1 and length 1. A more detai...
