I went ahead and tried hooking it up to use the output from the frequency converter, and it is working perfectly. So I guess we learn two things here... One, there is something about the TACH output on a Toyota ECU that the RCP (MKI at any rate) cannot read. Two, the Baker Electronics frequency conv...

RPM Signal Issues

I'm trying to get an RPM signal from my v6 swapped MR2 into my RCP MKI, and so-far having little luck. Motor is from a 2012 Rav4, ECU is 2007 Rav4. I am attempting to use the "TACH" output from the ECU, which in the stock configuration goes to pin 9 of the OBD2 connector (just like the BMW...

Cool, thanks. I may pick one of those up here soon. I have figured out direct methods to log all of the things I was hoping to log, so the CAN logging isn't an issue any more, but being able to connect from my tablet would be nice!

Alternately, I see a bluetooth module in the MKI Accessories page, but the description says it only works with the MKII. https://www.autosportlabs.com/product-category/race_capture_data_acquisition_telemetry/mk1-parts-and-accessories/ Can someone at least answer this question? Does the BT module wo...

Well, after a bit more searching I found the answer, that the MKI can't do CAN without the CANx add-on board. Is that available somewhere, or did it get dropped when the MKII came out? Alternately, I see a bluetooth module in the MKI Accessories page, but the description says it only works with the ...

Possible to log CAN data on RCP MKI?

Quick question, is it possible to setup my RCP MKI to log CAN bus data, specifically from a 2007 Rav4 ECU (swapping a 3.5L 2GR-FE into my MR2). Just wondering if I should run the wires or not, will figure out the details later!

Yeah, that would probably work. Another thing I have noticed, when you select a channel to overlay on the map (for example, color shading to display lateral g), it scales the color bars based on the max range of the sensor, rather than the max range of the data. So if your data peaks at say 1.2g out...

Hmm, that's a good point that I hadn't thought of. 90% of the time I am just looking at speed, so it seemed like too many colors. I wonder if it might be more clear to have one main color selected for each lap, and then various shades for different data channels? Might be tough to distinguish more t...

Thanks Brent! One other minor thing that I was going to mention and forgot to (this one should be relativly easy). It would be nice if the colors matched between the track map portion of the analysis and the graph portion. For example, if you have two laps overlayed, you are looking at four differen...

This may be pretty hard to implement, but would it be possible to compare the GPS data collected on the first lap to the list of "local" tracks that has already been narrowed down by the general location? Comparing just the start/finish won't necessarily do it, as in some cases one start l...

Thoroughly enjoying the new analysis features. Since I have been getting my car on an actual track more this year (instead of autocross), I have had a little opportunity to play with it some more. A couple of suggestions for future versions (these are based on my experience with 1.6, I haven't had a...

The multiple track configurations problem is an issue for me as well when running at Utah Motorsports Campus (AKA, Miller Motorsports Park). There are four different configurations, with three of them sharing the same start/finish line, and the fourth having it's own. Additionally, if one were to ad...

Avast uninstalled on the desktop, and V1.4 installed and runs just fine now. I strongly suspect (due to the issues with uninstalling 1.3.7) that this is some issue with an update to Avast. Looking for a new anti-virus now (again...) However, this brings me to a new issue, one that has been mentioned...

OK, very interesting. In safe mode, uninstall of the old version and install of the new were perfectly fine, no trouble at all. Reboot in normal, try to launch the newly installed v1.4, and I get a similar behavior as before, three instances of a "racecapture.exe" process, same 108k memory...

The previous version that I had installed was 1.3.7. That worked fine, other than now being unable to uninstall it. On my desktop I "manually" removed it (deleted the folder and any references to it in the registry), so it is plausible that there are some lingering elements that could effe...
