RCP cuts out same place every lap

https://race-capture.com/events/ldrl-wsi/device/triple-apex-racing-581 We were recently at a LDRL WSI event and finally got to use the RCP. So much fun to watch the car going around in real time from the air-conditioned cafe. For some reason, we lost connection every lap around T8. And lots of laps ...

I finally got everything configured properly. I was able to 'see' my car in the driveway from the website. I'm using the Mk1 with the latest V2 firmware and software. Can't wait to try it at Willow Springs next week in the Lucky Dog race.

RCP Mk1 advice

Which version of the firmware and software is recommended for Mk1 RCP? I sent my unit back to Autosport Labs and it was updated to the latest firmware I believe. I connected with the latest software and it appears to recognize the unit (I don't get a message that it isn't found and there are blue an...

In fact it was a $10 addition to my bill. Not sure why she told me it was $25.

cheap data card

ATT no longer has the gophone card for $15. The cheapest they have is a $25 card for 1 month of 2 Gb data. T-mobile has a $20 monthly card with 1 Gb data. Instead of doing these, I was able to add a new ATT SIM to my current account without an activation fee. It's $25 per month, but you can cancel w...

Also, try running flasher as root (sudo flasher...) to see if there's a permissions problem. Yeah, that was it. If you don't run it as root, it will continually look for the device and never find it despite the fact that dmesg shows it has loaded. I can now run the RaceCapture application from Wind...

My old box was a 32-bit Ubuntu install. The flasher executable works in 64-bit in a VM on my Mac. Not sure if the hardware will connect via the VM, but I'll give it a shot. Worst case, I'll install a 64-bit Ubuntu dual boot on my Windows box.

Trying to flash from Linux

I recently bought an RCP from an acquaintance. When plugged in, the device does not show up in either RaceCapture or RaceAnalyzer applications. No idea what firmware is on there, so I thought I would update to version 2 and run RaceCapture. I tried to flash from Windows 7 and two different Windows X...

Me too

I'm on a Windows 7 box and am also having the same issue where I can't update the firmware. I press the button, plug in, wait for 3 lights, and the response is waiting for USB............... The control panel shows it to be an input device. Looks like others have had the same problem. Is the only so...

Another CrapCan racer

I just picked up a used RCP. I'm looking forward to playing with this device for LeMons, Chump, track days, etc. I drive a 1986 e30, 1997 Miata, or 1987 MR2 depending on what's working.
