RCP App running on WIndows 8.1

I have an issue with the the Race capture application running on windows 8. I was running 2.4.0 previously without issue and upgraded to 2.7.0. When I launch the application it brings up a white screen that immediatley closes. I tried running as administrator without success. I tried to go back to 2...

Re: RCP2 Data Logging Error

Update: I have narrowed it down tho the micro SD carriage within the RCP2. I was able to manipulate tha SD card and was able to collect files; however, it is not connecting reliably over time. Has anyone has this problem? Any suggestions for best way to repair. I see soldering in my future if I can ...

RCP2 Data Logging Error

I have an issue with my RCP2 and the data logging function. I am running the current firmware and all functions work except for writing to the SDcard. When data logging is enabled the solid red light comes on. I created a voltage trigger in scripting and connected the device to an external variable ...

Mystery solved. I found an I/D-ten-t (IDIOT) failure on my part and eliminated a space in my code. All working and additional scripts added as,well.

here is what I have in script section. The behavior expected is battery voltage > 13 = green light flashing and data writing to SD card. What I get is Light off. I can press the button at both > and < 13 volts and it will start logging with flashing light. btw, I am a hardware (EE/ME) guy so this is...

Right and Left Air Fuel ratio

I would like some advice on using the "Customize Channel" feature in the Windows App by identify AFR by right (AFRR) and left (AFRL) channels, and ensure the dashboard will also respond accordingly. I can change the name in the Sensor customization, but then the RCP does not recognize the ...

I am trying to get the RCP to start logging automatically when the engine running by setting up a lab environment. I connected the RCP to my windows laptop and was able to get the application software connected. I installed the Lua script for subject function and then connected the +12V power to a v...

Scaling

attached is a typical scaling for a Wideband O2 Sensor. Since the output is linear you could use a simple ratio to bias the line of the Display to the Line of the RCP based on known values (i.e, known display of A/F ratio and measured voltage). If 2:14.2 = X:14.7 solve for X and plug it into the RCP...

Displaying Voltage on Channel and Engine Temp

Was wondering if anyone else notices that the RaceCapture software (V1.2.1) with RCP MK2 Firmware V 2.7.5 displays system voltage for both "Channel" and "Engine Temp" fields. I added a channel at bottom to display battery for analysis. System is running off USB drive on home comp...

Open Source

Brent: I will keep you posted and of course I am all about open source. Just need to get it from brain to paper and then to prototype. Should have something emulated by end of January.

Brent: I have two computers that I tried running the RC software. My primary is a Dell Inspiron 1501 and the other is a Dell Inspiron Mini 10. The later will not run the software because it is a basic POS that I use in the garage for internet searches wile working on cars. The primary Laptop image i...

Success

Brent: Yes to the above, I was previously able to update from 2.7.1 to 2.7.4 after some finger crossing, standing on one leg and holding my breath. I did a couple of things. Closed application, Removed and reinstalled Windows 7 driver, verified COM port and then closed out computer, logged back in a...

See my comments in quoted text. Yes I was able to upload form 2.7.1 to 2.7.4 using methods provided. * Shut down the race capture app completely. If you know how to start Windows Task Manager, make sure no "racecapture" or "python" processes are still running in the background. -...

Same Issue

Brent: The same error message posted above; however, the time receiving the message is immediate, whereas the preferred method using the connection to the COM port has some hysteresis as it changes from standard configuration to secondary configuration. Bot receive error.
