For racing situations you will want to power RCP via the 12v input so the 5v reference works properly. Also, to run cellular telemetry RCP needs 12v power. I'm curious, why do you want to keep RCP running when the car is shut off? Well the car is only off for a few minutes for fueling but we've see...

Going to try https://www.amazon.com/CompuLab-fit-Uptime-Compulab/dp/B01704YBA8?ie=UTF8&*Version*=1&*entries*=0 which should do the trick for my needs, would be good to know the limitations of powering via 5v USB though. I would assume it may limit the current supply for the 5v reference given USB2 i...

Maybe something like this would work to deal with my power switching issues.

I have the same question, what's lost besides alternator output (battery gauge) if you run off the usb power? The reason I'm interested is I'm still trying to solve the issue of having to cut full power to the care during refueling due to race regulations. I attempted to dual power the RCP, 12v + us...

Auto-blip, no lift shift....

Has anyone tried to implement autoblip/no-lift-shift via the RCP? My car is throttle-by-wire and uses a 5v variable voltage accelerator pedal. Seems like you could implement no-lift-shift by using a switch on the clutch pedal combined that with accelerator position to determine that the driver is in...

Issue with Podium.live site

Looks like podium is throwing 500 status codes. Was going to setup events for this weekend but not going to happen in the current state.

Did a little more testing with a first gen Nexus 7 running lollipop (5.1.1) and a Nexus 5x on Marshmallow (6.0.1). The Nexus 7 worked as expected, the 5x has the same behavior as the Nexus 9. Looks like it may be some issue with Kivy on Marshmallow. For now I'll just mount up the Nexus 7, add some w...

Trying to think of solutions in the near term, can easily start the app when the tablet detects the charger, after re-powering the car, haven't found anything to kill an app on usb disconnect. Other thought, when the RCP is connected to both 12v power and USB, where does it pull it's power? Was wond...

Android App Freezing on reconnect

Was testing out new tablet setup to try and send telemetry via wifi hotspot (no ATT/T-Mobile at most PNW tracks). Since our race series requires full power off during refueling I wanted to verify the app would reconnect to the RCP once it comes back up. The app appears to connect but then becomes un...
