RC/T Mk2 very sporadic GPS performance

Most recent couple of events I get very poor lap time data. Sometimes I won't get lap time for half a dozen laps, then it will pick up and give me half a dozen laps in a row just fine. Sunny day, antenna in clear view of the sky (haven't moved it in a couple of years). Is my GPS antenna going bad or...

Poor android app performance and disconnecting from podium

Figured I would post a bit more general question around what it takes to get the app to perform well on Android. The app appears to just be getting slower and slower with newer releases to a point where it's just difficult to get anything usable going (even changing screens). I don't have particular...

Coil pack tach adapter on active-low signals

This is a bit of a unique question related to using the tach adapter on a non-megajolt application. Been using various RCP products for a while so when I ran into an issue on my chump car, came straight to looking at these products. Problem: my ford focus svt chump car does not provide a tach output...

Hi Pete, Spotted your problem. In your Setup you have "Race Timing" turned off. Try turning it on, under Setup / Race Timing, then write the settings back to RaceCapture. Let us know if that works for you. Before your next event, you should be able to create a simulated track in a parking...

Yeah it's got the right track. I can see the car on the track in podium. I can even see predictive timing, just not actual lap times.

Not getting lap times into podium

Weird thing started happening on my rct2 with podium. I no longer get lap times pushed to it or shown on the tablet. However all other telemetry is being pushed including GPS location. Any ideas? Only change I can think of that I made is upgrading app and firmware to latest. Event: https://podium.li...

Bump on this, also very interested in seeing this writeup - particularly for early 2000s Fords as the op asked.

Hi, Those pads are for jumpering to enable a 2.2K pull-up resistor that is already on-board. You do not need to solder a 2.2K resistor in that place. Normally the jumper is open; to enable the resistor, solder across the joint. Also please make note of the possible limitations using thermistor-base...

Pull-up jumpers

Just got my analogx recently and i'm wiring up an oil temp gauge. Looks like there are pads on the back of the pcb to solder down a 2.2k. What I wanted to clarify is how the wiring should look like at this point if the 2.2k is on board. Does that mean that I only connect the ground and the input and...

RaceCapture/Track MK2 with it's dual CAN bus can work with ShiftX2 using an RJ45 splitter; that way OBDII data can be accessed on CAN bus 1, and ShiftX2 can be controlled on CAN bus 2. A splitter like this would do the job. The OBDII cable would plug into one of the ports, ShiftX2 in the other port...

RaceCapture/Track MK1 does not support Lua scripting, which is currently needed to control ShiftX2. The new RaceCapture/Track MK2 currently on pre-order does support Lua scripting, and can work with ShiftX2. Thanks - Hope that clarifies things! Brent, will it also work when using the Legacy adapter...

Here's a video of the gauge view https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=goBiHH911vw The response is about as good as it is on my tablet. The menu navigation is more sluggish, but definitely usable. I did notice that some of the PIDs don't work so i'll have to mess with that. Clutch and brake don't register...

Just for point of interest, I am using an aftermarket android deck in my e46 which is able to run the racecapture app. Makes the integration really clean - no phone or tablet necessary.

Success! The issue ended up being that there are two twisted pair wires in the ECU wiring bundle that are color coded exactly the same. Only one of them is correct though.

In the attached photo, the positaps on the right are correct, while the disconnected positaps on the left are the wrong pair.
