Re: New release Fire Tablet display

Just experienced the same issue while preparing a new Fire 7 (12th generation) to replace the 8GB Fire 7 (5th generation) that no longer has the storage capacity for the RaceCapture app plus the default software. Brent’s suggestion of opening a YouTube video to full screen worked, but hopefully ther...

Yes, firmware updates can only be done while connected to a computer. You'll see an additional firmware button on the bottom of the left hand menu in the Setup screen.

Personal Best Reference Lap

One feature that I would find useful would be the ability to store and use a personal best lap time. Using a personal best rather than best of the session might help me get up to speed more quickly when returning to a track or between sessions. One nuance would be the need to keep separate personal ...

Running the logs through the rcp2csv script mentioned in the Data Analysis Software sticky at the top of this forum section will automate the prep for RaceRender.

Hi -

I've don't have plans for any additional sensors. I'm still learning to use the system and interpret the data I already have!

Good luck with your install!

Sorry - I wasn't very clear. I have after-market sensors and gauges in the car now, but (I believe) they're based on a 0-12V signal. Rather than cutting into their wiring harnesses and doing all the voltage dividing, I was thinking I'd remove those to sell and just install 0-5V sensors wired direct ...

Hi Mike - I was at TWS with NASA last weekend as well! I don't use the Race Capture app for analysis, but I'm surprised that you're seeing so much offset from lap to lap. The data from my RaceCapture Pro Mk2 logs overlays very cleanly session after session and lap after lap. Can you post a log? I'd ...

Hi - Sorry I missed this earlier. Phase 1a of my installation went really well - other than having to work in the driver's side footwell of my '99. At least your ECU should be on the passenger side and more accessible! I tapped into the tach signal wire at ECU and brought it straight into my RaceCap...

I'll second Race Render as the easiest way to add data to video. I'll be interested to see the draft wiki page in case there's something I'm doing differently.

Hi -

I'm using the RaceCapture/Pro Mk2 and the wifi module - with that combo, I'm able to use Lua scripting to trigger the GoPro during each session. I'm using RPM as the variable to trigger data logging / video recording.

Hope that helps!

Dan -

I have the dash display tablet connected via Bluetooth so that I can use wifi to connect to and control the GoPro. This also leaves the wifi on my tablet free to connect to a hotspot on my phone to stream telemetry.

I ran into the same issue when trying math channels in AEMData/GEMS. My work around has been to create the math channels in excel after converting with the perl script and before importing into Dlog99. Yeah, that's easy for certain things, harder for others... like calculating time slip between arb...

Hi - I'm still coming up the learning curve with my RaceCapture and GEMS, so maybe you've already tried these things. - Have you added a GPS Beacon on your track map near the start / finish line and adjusted the range (I've been using the time window) until laps appear? - Does your channel list have...

RaceCapture App Missing 'msvcr100.dll Error and Resolution

For some reason, my installation of the RaceCapture 1.8.0 app on my track-only Windows 10 laptop decided to stop working. I got an error message when trying to start the program stating that msvcr100.dll was missing. I don't know why it worked initially and suddenly stopped, but I assumed it was due...
