I built a programmer for the megajolt 16 pin microcontroller and modified it to program the 8 pin Ic for the test rig by adding an extra socket. The programming software I used was by Pand E microsystems and is Prog08sz flash programmer.I think this would probably work with the freescale demo board a...

I have been driving my tacho from the the pip line for about 6 months with no problems at all. It is a ford unit but would not work from the edis tacho output for some reason and as my megajolt is a v2 with 5v tacho output it did not work from that either, I did use the diode method but the glass ze...

I built my own programmer

I built my own programmer based on the one available for the 40 pin megasquirt processor. You need to get the correct s19 file and burn to the processor first, then the boot loader programme. The files and method are available on this site and info about programing is on the freescale site along with...

It would be nice to see the Megajolt progress in this way, so as not to be dependent on seperate Edis units. Im sure it could be done but the processor would need to be upgraded. i went to the breakers yard today and found that Edis units are definitely getting rarer, so it would be a good thing to ...

i have thought about doing

i have thought about doing this using megasquirt and spark extra code in a stripped down megasquirt and using VB921 ignition drivers and the trigger wheel decoder from the newer version of megasquirt. It would be nice to have a striped down version of the megatune software that only has the ignition...

Now fixed. It turned out to be the wiring for the rev counter, I had used the diode circuit and installed the components in the loom near the coil connections and heat shrinked them together.I removed the parts and found that the zener diode had broken at one end and the lead was making intermittent...

I will try it with just the Edis connected , I didnt think of using the pip signal to trigger the megasquirt. Will have to wait until the weekend now until i can get time to put it back together and test it during the daytime.I suspect it is a dirty trigger signal but dont understand why it would sud...

Missfire under load, on installation after 3000 miles.

I have a megajolt installed on my crossflow powered car and have had no problems until recently in 3000 miles but the car has recently developed a missfire under load as when pulling away or revving hard in neutral. When it occurs the shift lights flash even though the engine is only running at 2000...

Will the seperate unit type

Will the seperate unit type as used in some fiestas work? , how important is it that the curve matches as long as the output range is 0 to 5v across the required Map range?. If the unit is mapped to the car the actual response curve of the sensor would not be critical within reasonable limits.

I have this set up running on my car.I fitted Megajolt lite to it last year when running a carb and have just upgraded to Megasquirt running V3.0 software and a V2.2 board.I used the Tacho output from the megajolt, on mine it is a 5v signal as it is the earlier v2.5 unit.I have so far left the ignit...

Try reversing the connections to the VR sensor, if reversed it will not spark .Other than that swap the edis and then coilpack.
