That happened to me too, but when I touched the circled letter i in the network line in Settings/WiFi and touched Join this Network on the new page, it connected. Once it joins the first time, it automatically joined the next time from the main page.

OBD is a lousy way to log engine data for tuning. It's far too slow. You really need CAN. For tuning, I use an SCT X4 to log data from my 2011 Mustang to a laptop PC. The instructions for selecting the data to be logged say to never use OBD. Unfortunately, the CAN ID's are not given in the software....

I would give odds that SoloStorm doesn't conform to SAE. The reason being that the accelerometer and gyro Z axis of smartphones and tablets is perpendicular to the face of the tablet. The Z axis becomes the longitudinal axis when the device camera is pointed in the direction of travel. I might also ...

For X, Y and Z axis labeling, the normal format I've seen is that the Z axis is roll and longitudinal acceleration, The X axis is pitch and lateral acceleration and the Y or vertical axis is yaw and vertical acceleration. When stationary, it's easy to determine the vertical axis, it will show 1g acc...

The older go-pros have a backpack for turning the gopro on/off. If you set the GoPro to auto-record when powered up, then that could be a way to do it. Note, there's a few seconds lag between power up and recording. That wouldn't help. He's only getting about 20 minutes of continuous recording time...

If GoPro still make a skeleton case, that lets you access the USB port for charging. Obviously this only works either inside the car or in dry weather. Otherwise, you need the piggyback battery adapter and a lot of charged spare batteries.

That looks like an exponentially weighted moving average filter. You want to make big changes in alpha. I'd start with 0.5, alpha/2, then if that's not enough go to 0.33, 0.25....

It looks to me like the scale factors are off and there's an offset. Change the scale factors from 1 to 0.01 and from 0.1 to 0.001 and subtract 40. That will get you to 25 degrees. Then see if the temperature changes correctly. A 40 degree offset is normal for temperature readings.

It's generally safer to send files in a compressed format. The usual method is to use the zip format. 7zip is freeware.

My Hero3 has been quite reliable as long as the battery is charged. The later versions seem to have 'features' that make them less reliable or even incompatible.

I forgot that Circuit Tools, besides requiring data in the vbo format, conversion to which wouldn't be difficult. It also calculates velocity and acceleration from the GPS fixes rather than from accelerometer input data. The six decimal place format of GPS data from RaceCapture devices does not have...
