2018 Subaru STi Can Mapping

I had the chance to help a friend install a RCT into his 2018 Subaru STi this weekend, and wanted to pass along some lessons learned. Unlike my 2015 WRX, the 2018 STi appears to require a different Can H/L tapping location. Originally we tried tapping Can H/L at the OBD port. This resulted in no can...

Got a lead on brake pressure, not just sweep. Going to test to day and add it if it looks right.

Edit: no go on pressure... Thought it would be quick but I that doesn't seem to be the case. Pressure might have to wait for when I have more time.

Most recent config.

There is shiftx3 script in the file. There is also a series of active transmits to the ECU in the script. Responses from the ECU are received on 2024. I also have an analogX, so DiffT and OilPressure are coming from the AnalogX.

TCS Mapping is done. Can ID: 211 Set to Bit Mode "Traction Control" - does not have a light on the dash. However, trac mode or traction control is completely disable, this value goes to 0. A value of 1 indicates the system is full active. Offset: 31 Length: 1 "Trac Mode" - a valu...

Script 2-3 posts above is the latest. This is all done on the racecapture track. That script sends all the requests to the ecu, and then I just use the can mapping to decode the replies. :D The only problem is if you don't copy the script exactly, say you omit a request parameter, it shifts the repl...

Quick addition here. These are wheel speed sensors directly from the network. No active request is needed to the ECU. This should work on all cars using the Hitachi ecu. Non EJ motors, FA20 engines. Can ID: 212 FL Byte: 0,1 Length: 2 FR Byte 2,3 Length: 2 RL Byte 4,5 Length: 2 RR Byte 6,7 Length: 2 ...

GoPro Wifi Remote

I'm not sure how feasible this is but would it be possible to mimic a GoPro Wifi Remote? Not the smart remote. As I understand it, the remote is a AP and the gopros connect to it. The AP issues a command, and all cameras execute it. A little reverse from how it is configured now, GoPro AP and RC con...

Telemetry Analysis Feedback

Hi Everyone, I've had the Track MK3 in the Subaru for a few events now. This past event was my first with a capable set of brake pads. My previous pads could not handle the weight of the car, and would glaze within one session. Finally swapped from Carbotech XP8 all around to Gloc R18/R10 (IE: Carbo...

Hi TimG, I saw your post in the thread about the 987.1. Unfortunately, the 987.1 uses a completely different ECU. None of the information I gathered from my car is applicable to you. The 981 and 991, are similar so if you can find someone who has 981 experience it will help you get a jump start. I d...

Happy to report the polling rate may have been my issue. :P

Shame shame shame on me.

Have either of you tried to datalog while either on a track or autox? The lag I'm describing was not noticed until using racerender to overlay the info. There was a definite overlap between throttle and brake transitions, almost like I was left foot braking. I may or may not have logs that date that...

Interesting question and hypothesis! I don't have PASM. 1099 offset 0 is exactly what I have mapped for my brake. I'll try upping the poll rate and see if that fixes it. My next autocross is not for awhile, and there is some other general maintenance that needs to be address. I'll report back! Thank...

Love to see the brake stuff as I'm not happy with the slow response I'm getting. Sounds like your making great progress!
