Re: TMobile Cell Connection doesn't work
From you last message, it sounds like t-mobile says the tower near you is 5G. PodiumConnect is 4G only. So, it could be that the 4G cell tower is further away from you, vs the 5G tower your phone is connecting to. There's no reason to believe at this point the antenna is defective. Yes, to answer yo...

Re: TMobile Cell Connection doesn't work
Hi, RaceCapture is a 4G device, not 5G. From the RSSI indicator on your log output (4) - this is a very weak signal and could indicate it's not strong enough to connect reliably. Trying to connect in a different location, closer to a tower, could make a different. Alternatively, you can try a Verizo...

Re: TMobile Cell Connection doesn't work
Hi, The type of SIM card you need is specifically for a data-only device, such as for a hotspot, or a tablet. A SIM provisioned for a phone will not work. We cover it here in our guide: https://wiki.autosportlabs.com/RaceCapture_real_time_telemetry#Jump_to_telemetry_via_RaceCapture_app_guide Barring...

Re: Does MegaJolt have to be behind the firewall ? Engine bay a No-No ?
We recommend it be placed in the passenger compartment to be protected from heat and moisture. Perhaps someone has an installation they can share where they've sealed it in a box in the engine compartment.

Re: Racecapture Apex not connecting to Racecapture
It sounds like perhaps the firmware failed to update.
When you plug it in over USB, do you see any flashing LEDs?

Re: Telus for Canadian Racers
Your backup option is to broadcast telemetry using the RaceCapture app and a bluetooth connection.

SIM900 only supports 2G. In North America, the only provider still currently supporting this (maybe) is T-Mobile.

The new beta firmware resolves the issue with getChannel() returning nil. You can try it here:

That should be fine. You would simply not need the pullup resistor for that channel.

Re: RCP/Mk3 causing OBDII interference
Passive mode means that it's listening to OBDII responses made by another OBDII device -- like it's spying on the data, passively. The early RX8 ECUs have a problem handling the OBDII queries we generate; the best alternative is to use the RX8 direct CAN mapping, which listens to a stream of CAN dat...

Re: Updated OBDII mapping guide for standard and extended PIDs
Hi, We recently fixed a couple of problems with the RaceCapture app as well as the firmware, where OBDII channels created from scratch did not work correctly. The beta app/firmware is here: https://discord.gg/JbKUyFw See the rc-v2-beta-testing channel for more details on how to get started with the ...

Re: Legacy OBDII to CAN issues
Hi, Thanks for posting. Some clarification questions. Are you saying at one point you were able to read OBDII data from the legacy adapter? But now, if you test it exactly the same way, you cannot? Does the legacy adapter still supply power to RC if you have it plugged into the RJ45 connector, with ...
