Where it currently is has full bars of 3G service.

Think I figured out the answer is No, telus does not work. The unit does not recognize the sim card, can't initialize or read the phone number.

We have our RCP wired direct (fused and switched) separate from ignition. That way during fuelling we do not lose signal and have to go through a reboot and restart logging etc. Works well for us.
