The old Race Analyzer program only works with data logged by V1.x firmware. With the new V2.x firmware, Race Analyzer has been abandoned. And there were troubles with how V1.x firmware did logging, which were fixed in V2.x There are some other programs that can import the data (I use Excel for quick...

I'm just now starting to work with scripting. What I was seeing last night was similar- I'd edit script on the app, push the new config up to my RCP MK1, and 75% of the time it would hang, crash, reboot with red LED on (showing it was bypassing the script) and would come back online. At that point I...

Same here. http://www.autosportlabs.org/viewtopic.php?t=4521 But it's not 2.8.3, it's the app. Go back to 1.3.5 and you should be fine (mine works again). Scripting in 1.3.6 works on my Android tablet though...

Another quick photo showing the CAN viewer that came with the sensor I lifted from work (dead project, good tool) and matching data on a dial on RCP dashboard.

Long story somewhat shorter... I scoped the SPI interface and found the CS* line (chip select) wasn't being driven. Brent suspected a broken solder joint between connector and main board. That looked okay, but then I stared into the RJ45 and saw this... one dental tool later, the pin is in line with...

Still no go. I've got a broadcasting CANbus sensor hooked up to a USB diagnostic CAN interface on another computer, and have jumpered RCP CANx wires (CANH and CANL) onto the existing/running/communicating bus, then powered up the RCP, and the scripting log window still reports CAN controller reset f...

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh... interesting. I wouldn't have expected it would know the difference between "no bus" and "inactive bus". Let me try a few more things...

app 1.3.6 won't load scripting page

Screenshot shows the error message, on firmware 2.8.2 on MK1; also does the same on 2.8.3 MK1. This is on a Win8 laptop connected by USB. I dropped to console and issued resetConfig with no help. Scripting was running earlier today, not sure what I've done differently. Powercycling and connecting a ...

Anyone with MK1 hardware and CANx - can you share what firmware you're running, to help me confirm I'm not insane? I just got my CANx in the mail, but can't get it working. The sample script shows a failure to init in the console/log window : "Failed to reset CAN controller" "CAN init failed" This w...

Sensor config info is here - http://www.autosportlabs.net/RaceCapturePro2_Calibrate_Sensor you're going to use the mapped option. I don't have the EGT board, so this isn't tested, but here are my numbers stuck into RCP config. On the chart it looks like a straight line, but it's correcting for about...

Just a little more refining and tuning.. these five linearizing points keep you within +/-1 degree error from 0-988C, and 1000C is only 1.3C low. C K TC mV AD8494 0 0 0.0 320 13.040 1.596V 680 28.289 3.462V 790 32.865 4.022V 950 39.314 4.812V New chart - blue is unlinearized error; green is the five...

I had to take a look at how non-linear the type K thermocouple really is.. Here's a chart I made showing error between actual temperature and indicated temperature for a non-linearized thermocouple, at 5mV/C right from that chip/board. Worst case is indicating about 815C at 800C actual. Seeing this ...

Not sure where you're planning to mount the quad amplifier board, but the chips are rated for 0-50C so probably not under the hood. The chip is rated to +125C operating temperature, but it's designed for better accuracy if the sensor connects to the board at 0-50 (cold junction compensation range). ...

More catching up I need to do.. the above-referenced MS firmware 3.4 is for the MS2 board.. I've got MS3, which is a whole different code set, but I believe it's been broadcasting on CAN already. Latest release for the MS3 is presently 1.4 released July 9th 2015. http://www.msextra.com/downloads/

Try opening your RCP_demo.LOG file in notepad - I bet it's really an HTML file. Did you rightclick a link and say SAVE AS or just click the link? Try getting the real log file, and it should be better. Or I could be completely wrong. :)
