I haven't used it yet but I was told recently that you can save logged data on remote tablest/phones if they are connected (bluetooth/wifi) during the datalogging and running the RaceCapture app. So if you're using a phone/tablet as a display it can automatically save the data to that same device. T...

Guide to making Dashboards with Android Devices
Hey all, I've written a guide for setting up Android Tablets and Phones for use as automatic dashboards in your vehicles. It outlines how to automate behaviors like turning screens on, starting the RaceCapture app, automatically connecting to your RaceCapture, displaying your dashboards, etc. Hopefu...

Getting your data into video with RaceRender
Hey folks, I wrote a beginner's guide to using RaceCapture with RaceRender. RaceRender is a very popular software tool you can use for free (with a watermark in your videos, pay to remove plus unlock features) to overlay a myriad of data sources on top of video. A lot of people have been challenged ...

RaceCapture Multi-Display Demo Video
Hey folks, I put together a video demonstrating my application of the super cool multi-display feature of the RaceCapture Product line. I figured it might be of interest to potential and existing users of the products that aren't yet leveraging displays fully. https://youtu.be/ul9FW9I9Exs http://www...

Configurable audio alerts
The idea I have is using headphones while driving, something like a bluetooth headset, with which I can hear audible alerts from the RaceCapture App. Perhaps a Text To Speech of the sensor name and "Warning" or "Critical" that repeats periodically. Like if Oil Pressure was too low you would hear "Oi...

Logs go back in time
Using the latest mk3 firmware (2.11.0 I believe). Had the initial log timestamps go back in time a few ticks. Found this because it really made RaceRender screw up. The first four timestamps are as follows: 1495205968458 1495205968378 1495205968448 1495205968458 Note how it goes back in time for two...

To add to this I have an Nvidia Shield set up in my track car and used it last weekend, worked very well. Here are the highlights: 1) Nvidia Shield 8" tablet - easy to read with sunlight and without, though I used a tinted visor. It's polarized though, noticed this with my sunglasses as the alignmen...

On a whim I tried a hunch and edited the column title "Oil PressurePSI" and removed the PSI. I then had to close the app to retry a reload as I couldn't get the app to open up the dialog for selecting the log file again. After restarting the app and selecting the modified log file I then get a dupli...

v1.9.0 app bug? - duplicate column name
Using v1.9.0 of the Windows app on Windows 10. Trying to import a log for analysis. Getting an error "duplicate column name: Oil PressurePSI". Checked the data, only one column has this name that I see. Somewhat related, the input's name is actually "Oil Pressure", and the unit is PSI. For some reas...

Bryan's right, my script does a lot of data cleanup which seems to make life much easier with RaceRender, usually working after conversion without further data modification. I just had a race weekend with data and video so I'll take this opportunity to write up a workflow for RaceRender in the wiki.

Personally I find Race Render easy to use, enough so that I paid for the full software package. I can't say I've mastered it but it's worked alright so far. Here's a video where I added a lot of the RCP data to my video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fAwaJmYB7b8 It's been years since I tried anyth...

Despite being the one who wrote the conversion script I'm pretty out of it when it comes using DA. I saw your post and opened up an old log I had on my laptop from a few years ago and after setting up the track map and beacon I got lap times calculated in the lower left. Is this what you're talking ...
