Conversion between inHg on gauge and kPa on MAP sensor
I think this is in the correct forum. Forgive me if it isn't. What I'm trying to do is produce a starter 3d map from my distributor curve. The thing that has given me a headache is transposing the vacuum figures given by my gauge to the kPa figures that the map sensor will reference. I think I have ...

I got an MPX4250AP f.o.c.
I got an MPX4250AP f.o.c. from Freescale, but I had to go through work to get it as a sample. They asked quite a few questions too... may try and get another one at a later date, but they end to be close to £20 in the UK...IF you can find one... I was also very lucky to be able to get 2 of the Mole...

I run a similar spec engine
I run a similar spec engine in my Capri and will be going Megajolt later in the year... does yours run with a Throttle Position Sensor or MAP sensor? I'm currently running a stage 3 head with a 285 cam and a 38DGAS with a standard distributor and I'm getting 160BHP (flywheel) Hoping that the Magajol...

Thanks Brent
Wasn't 100% sure if I needed to do the diode circuit. I have tested my spare tacho on a 12V sq wave @ 33.33hz and the tach says 1000 which is correct (4 cyl 4 stroke). I'll be hopefully building a MJLJ very soon.

Tach output V3 boards
Do the V3 boards include the tach output circuit for using Smiths etc. tachos or do I have to build that as a sepatare unit? Looking at the schematic, I notice the transistor circuit between the tach out and the saw pins... is this the tacho circuit now "built in"? As yet, I havn't built m...

this is a nightmare...
all the maps I can find / maps peeps have emailed me use 0 to 152 in the "map bins" I take it these numbers relate to a TPS application. Is there a standard safe Pinto map out there using a MAP sensor that will allow me to get my engine running in 3d when I get the MJLJ installed, or will ...

can anyone help?
I have the 3d maps from Matt Dearden, but the "load" axis is TPS... is there any way of transposing these figures to rough "kpa" readings to get me started? My only other option is to take a spare distributor and work out how much the vacuum advance capsule advances the ignition ...

TPS to MAP conversion
Sorry if I am being dense here, but I often can't see the forest for the trees... I've been hunting around for a while now for a map to suit a pinto engine. What I'm looking for is a 3d map using a MAP sensor, but all I can find is one using a TPS. I'm new to all the setup software etc. and as yet d...

I'm new to the Megajolt system
I'm new to the Megajolt system, but I'm looking to get a 36-1 tooth wheel laser cut to my own design to fit to a modified sierra double front pulley for my Capri. As yet, I havn't really got anywhere with it. I was thinking about bolting it on, but now, I think I'll get the pulley turned down to sui...

cheers
I figure that I'll start with a map for a standard engine and work up from there. Can't afford a session on the rollers just yet, but seeing as it runs pretty well with the standard dizzy curve, it can only get better with Magajolt. I'll probably start by mapping the original dizzys mechanical advan...

MPX4250AP MAP sensor availability.
New to this so bare with me. I am getting together all the bits that I require for this system and I am having trouble getting the MPX4250AP sensor. I work in the electronics industry in the UK and one of the major suppliers "RS" states the unit as being "discontinued". This devi...
