I'd prefer to stay with the trigger wheel from the 1.9L ford escort, but it's one that has to be seperated from the harmonic balancer. It's a larger wheel which would work better with the stock crank pulley.

A database of different wheels would be helpful...

Crank Sensor Wheels

Any information out there on different crank sensor wheels? I know of two- the one off of the 1.9L ford escort, and the 5.0L mustang motor (year ??). The mustang version is smaller than the ford escort, but comes seperately from the crank pulley- the ford escort version requires the pulley to sepera...

unfortunately, there isn't enough memory in the processor to accomodate two ignition maps. It might be possible to reduce the size of the map and allow enough room for two, though. Of course, that would require custom coding in the processor. For two controllers you'd have to isolate the SAW output ...

Hi, I tried using one of the outputs as a boost controller. the main problem is that since you need to reference the boost right at the manifold, i.e. as close to the engine as possible, you will have a big delay in response which will not allow it to correct fast enough. As you may know , there is ...

Yep, you're right, I missed that in the MPX4250 application notes. I looked over the megasquirt code and I need to incorporate a table look up to correct the KPA value.

Look for an updated very soon that will fix this.

Thanks for pointing this out!

I'm working on providing completed units, so stay tuned.

Take a look at the "Digikey Parts order page"; the link to that is on the Hardware page, referenced at the top of the page here.

Hyperterminal debug instructions

Barry, Try this: Open up Hyperterminal. create a connection, and configure it to connect directly to the com port # you have on your computer. (Make sure no other programs are using that com port- close all communication programs, including palm pilot sync programs) When it asks for the communicatio...

Essentially correct. To use the TPS, you'd need to create a variable voltage signal using the +5v as a reference on the MJLJ. The TPS is a regular variable resistor- 3 terminal device with the center tap being the reference signal. one terminal gets +5v, the opposite end is GND, and the center is th...

Hi Barry, I'm still looking into an alternate way to communicate with the controller. I was thinking of using Hyperterminal to manually send commands to it and see if any data gets sent back. Otherwise, try taking some pictures of your work, front and back, as Paratime suggested. I'll try to get the...
