the temperature input can be added to the V3 quite easily. I have it on both of mine although I havn't used it on either yet.

Have a read through this whole thread for info

Brent,

Is there a pin for pin SMT (SOIC) device that I could use with a DIP adaptor board?

Is this the one?

Repeated the hardware updates on my other V3 unit, but this time I've sorted an input... a 3.5mm stereo jack plug which will allow me 3 seperate inputs if needed and enough board to do more hardware within the MJLJ case. Should have this little lot on trial in my Capri in the next few weeks... http:...

I've been following this quite closely as I intend to use a temperature input on the Aux circuitry. Heres how I've done the internal mods so far: As I'm using a MAP optioned V3 unit, to get the Vref pin enabled on the Molex for Map switching etc., simply wire link L1. This allows the 5V and 0V for t...

I'm with steve c on this one. We do a huge amount of surface mount at work. Most is on the pick and place machine, but a lot is hand placed onto pasted for reflow, and the stuff that isn't, is done by tinning one pad, reflowing with the iron to locate one end of the component and then soldering the ...

nice to see my web pages being of use... On my pinto pulley, as you quite rightly state, the TDC mark is where you have pointed it out. My sensor sits 9 teeth anticlockwise from the missing tooth and corresponds to the screw head roughly in the half past 3 position.

You might be able to open it up and salvage the MAP sensor though. don't think so, Ford map sensors normally produce a frequency not a voltage standard ford map sensors use a similar freescale unit to that of the MJLJ, BUT it is the non ported type and is sealed in the ford unit. There is also a PI...

for Molex terminals, you ideally need the correct Molex crimp tool... not cheap at upto £200+ (not joking, just bought a small one for a job at work). I'm quite lucky working in the electronics industry that I had access to the correct tools. Other cheaper tools may well do the job well enough, but ...
