Here's the section of the software manual that talks about configuring start/stop finish line as well as the split time. http://www.autosportlabs.net/RaceCapturePro_SoftwareOperation#GPS_Configuration Note, the mobile app will replicate all of the configuration features of the regular app, appropri...

I'm not a moderator but I'm sure it will work. The RPM input on the Race Capture Pro should be a digital input on a PWM circuit. It just needs to see a voltage transition above some threshold, I'm guessing a volt or two. How many coils you wrap around the high voltage circuit would determine the ind...

Sounds reasonable to keep a list of S/F line location, especially since there is already a Race Capture Pro Wiki. :) I'm guessing that specifying a point and proximity to that point for S/F triggering is easier for coding than specifying a line to cross with two points. The big question is how easy ...

Selecting the start / finish line is by specifying a spot on the earth via latitude / longitude points and specifying the diameter of the spot. The spot must be large enough to trigger while the vehicle in in that spot, but not so big that it will trigger on an adjacent part of the track. Hope this...

Sensor linearization calculation

In case some of you were wondering how to put this information to practical use, let's work through an example: VW KE-Jetronic ECU with Volkswagen coolant temperature sensor Vsupply=5V (Is a pretty standard voltage supply value for Bosch ECU's) Rpullup=5000 Ohms (Is a pretty standard internal pullup...

Onboard 5V sensor supply?

I'm trying to figure out how to get a 5V sensor supply from the RaceCapturePro for potentiometer type sensors. How about using the * 4 configurable 0-5v analog or frequency output (PWM) channels * Control other systems or even override OEM sensors and just fixing them at a 5V output to provide a sen...

It depends. Most of these OBD Bluetooth devices read from the SAE standard PID's. And the more PID's that are read the less frequently they get updated. So if you only need to record just a few signals then the refresh rate might be acceptable. As far as aligning the data, I've found that a common m...

I got this USB to serial adapter to work with the Innovate LC-1 and haven't had any problems with it. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006PIU2KO/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i01 The only thing you have to watch out for is to make sure it is assigned a COM port that is acceptable to the program which need...

Greetings from Michigan

Greetings from the Southeast Michigan area. I'm a car enthusiast who enjoys autocrossing in local DCSCC events as well as tinkering with my IT prepared 1987 VW GTI 16V. I'm looking forward to the low cost, open source Race Capture system!
