Ive never tried to run the MJ software under WINE although I run Linux on a lot of my machines as well. I have had other serial devices work under VirtualBox with a Windows install in them, although I havent tried the Megajolt Tuner that way. The Serial interface spec is here http://www.autosportlab...

Well, that also looks good to me.. 'Scope pics ! wasnt expecting them ! ;) Theres a slight amount of variation in the peak levels there that is suggestive of a small amount of runout in the wheel or wobble in the sensor mounting (or it could just be AC noise), but it doesnt look like enough to distu...

That looks correct to me. What about your VR sensor, mounting bracket, sensor gap and missing-tooth wheel ? You have a pic of them handy ? Did you make your wheel yourself or buy them pre-made ? The EDIS wont fire the coil packs (or do anything) without a good VR sensor signal. If you have access to...

Disconnect the Megajolt to simplify things and dont worry too much about the PIP and SAW readings to begin with.. They arent needed for limp-home mode - only once the engine is running and the MJ needs to control the advance curve are they used. Pip & saw are pulsed/timed signals, not voltage le...

Use a normally closed relay to turn off the +12v power to the injectors ?

They tend to be wired with a common positive, and the injector signals pull the negative side down, so just break into common the +12v to the injectors and turn that off when the hard-rev-limit is reached ?

How does your engine "say its at 10 degrees" ? ;) I assume you mean a timing light on the crank pulley timing notch ? If its as much as 10 degrees difference (and you are sure your timing mark is correct to the engines TDC), then you should move your EDIS trigger wheels missing-tooth locat...

Ive had a play on my Galaxy-S. looks pretty good.. A few issues In portrait screen mode, (I typically keep my phone locked into portrait mode most of the time, unless I need the wide-screen for something, I hate it auto switching if I dont hold it right).. If I set the orientation of the phone to &q...

OK, So it can send sparks to the plugs then.. Thats a beginning.. :) Have you confirmed you have your spark plug wiring correct to suit your firing order ? I'm assuming your Rover 3.5 is the english V8 ? (Im from Australia, and theyre not common down here) If so, your firing order should be 1-8-4-3-...

IIRC, The default map that is in a Megajolt from Factory should be fine to start and drive it to the tuners, provided you dont fang it and push it into high loads :)

If you used to run a dizzy in the car, get a dizzy shop to graph the curve that was in your old distributor on a pieve of graph paper for you (they spin it up on a machine), also how much the vacuum advance (if you ran it) effects it, and that will give you the best starting point to put into your m...

Have you tried reversing the wires from the VR sensor to the EDIS ? People commonly get them backwards. Usually if you do, it kicks a little now and then on cranking, but wont run.. but they can also fail to kick at all. Have you verified that you also have 12v power to the coilpack ? measuring from...

Change the spark at idle up and then down about 10 degrees in each direction. That should make enough of a noticeable change in the idle to be able to tell if the MJ is controlling the EDIS directly. If its not, check the wiring for the SAW signal from the MJ to the EDIS for connectivity.. thats the...

Definitely the O2 Data log. If you are running Carbs (and Turbos etc), who *need* to be able to verify that the right amount of fuels is getting in there.. Lean out and Rich Spots will kill you power far more effectievly that a few degrees off on the tining will. Get that O2 data logging happening, ...

OK, So hook the 0-5v output of your widebandO2 into the Aux in channel of your Megajolt, set it up for datalogging, so you are recording the EGO along with all the ignition parameters, and take her for a burn. Hit the bad spot a few times in different ways and note when they happened time wise.. Com...

I would add a momentary-contact "Prime" buitton to the system somewhere, just incase the webers bowls run dry. Ive had webers boil (percolate) after a hard thrash on a hot day, You dont want to get stuck with dry bowls and no way to get fuel back into them. Or, you can get a rpm/safety swi...
