That's good news ! I'm not having much time at the moment to work on the car. Babies and family taking time, and all that.... ;-) But... since last I tried to manufacture the trigger wheel myself. It is 90mm in diameter. I gave up because of poor tools and teeth varying too much in size and position...

No you misunderstood what I said, I have taken the pins out the EDIS plug, removed the old wire and re-used them.
I did not want to solder /sleeve the old wires, looks much better!

Yes,
sorry - I misread you.
Yeah - that would like much cleaner.

I work in the Avionics industry, I used twin twisted shielded wire (red / blue wires braided shield) we use for audio in aircraft. It is flame retardant / heat resistant and half the diameter of the Ford cable. Check your local aircraft parts store, in England Adams Aviation Biggin Hill should be a...

Ok, thanks.

I'll avoid the plugleads. I have the EDIS-unit and the coilpack just about smack up to each other. This means that the cable from the VR-sensor comes at one point at a distance of say 10-15cm of the plug leads. Do you think that will be a problem ?

Default cable to VR sensor from Ford not shielded !?

I bought a complete package from triggerwheel.com with sensors, coils, EDIS-units, harness etc. Now that I'm installing it in the engine bay I notice that the cable that came with the VR-sensor (which is from a Ford) - it is not shielded. I thought it would be. Now, I concidere this solved, since wh...

[quote="aarc240"] More precisely, the sensor mounted in the distributor will be positioned at half the usual angle BUT .... you would check the true firing point against a reference pointer and a degree wheel (or tape) on the nose of the crankshaft. quote] That's a good idea. I didn't thin...

Bump !

Does anyone know ?

'But - since the wheel is 72-2 toothed. Should the sensor be mounted at half the degree BTDC that you would have on a 36-1 wheel ? Since 1 revolution of the distributor axis equals 2 revolutions on the crank.'

Only go for 'in the distributor' if there is absolutely NO way to get the 36-1 onto the crankshaft. If you are really stuck on the nose of the motor, consider a drilled or milled flywheel to simulate the arrangement Ford used on some 4 cylinder motors. I have tried a 'drilled' flywheel where we put...

I'm partly with you on the details. I'm an architect, but I've done my part of reading on the subject. I've built a MSII with ignition for another of my cars. I also have a friend who is an electrician whom I bug when I get stuck. First hand, I'm going to try to use an ordinary wheel with the defaul...

Sure ! Is it easy to source an optical wheel and sensor ? My distributor has a 4 toothed wheel which is treaded down on the axel. The centerhole of the wheel has a "star" shaped hole with many teeth. I was thinking I would have made a trigger wheel with a centerhole that would fit this sha...

I'm thinking the same. I'm having no where to mount the sensor - and no pulleys seems to be able to fit the trigger wheel too. So, I thought I could just as well use a distributor I have that is faulty. So, can one make the trigger wheel smaller than 90mm diameter as mentioned here ? Or would one ge...
