Sounds like your wire is only hot when the key is on. You need a lead that is hot in START and RUN. Good luck.

I don't think it is needed and a lot of people eliminate it. I did and don't have any issues, been running for over two years now.

Thanks, it'd been a long road to get the car just how I like it. But not the Megajolt, that part was actually fun and went along well with no issues.

2001 gs, just about any Bosch distributor advance curve is available online. Just use the curve of whatever distributor you have as a starting point. For example, a Bosch 009 has about 20-25 degrees advance all in, peaking around 3000-3500 and starting around 1500 or so. Just put a timing light on i...

I am not good with any kind of graphics.

My idea, a pic of a distributor with a red line and circle around it.

Underneath it says "Any questions?"

Then, the Megajolt logo.

A simple statement of elegance, just like Megajolt.

Get the right reach and heat range to fit your engine. If your car was on points and dizzy, you can probably open the gap a bit. I went from .028" to 050" with no problems. I also run non-resistor plugs, for the last 3 years, no problems.

RE the wiring: worst case you'll have to reverse the leads to get it to run. 50% chance of getting it right with only two wires.

That was the second to last connection I made, last was the coilpack leads, another 50-50 shot!

FYI, using NGK DP-8-EA9 plugs for years, no interference on 'Jolt or dizzy. These are non-resistor plugs.

Glad you're running again Paul.

A quick Google and a few false links, then eureka, NGK decoder ring:

I think you're making it too complicated. If you have some sort of load sensing(MAP or TPS) you can dial some economy into the curve. Less load, more advance kind of thing. I have two maps loaded in but I haven't touched the map switch in a year. Once you get it right and it runs really well you won...

How secure is your VR bracket? Sometimes there can be a vibration-induced harmonic of the bracket that can cause a glitch. Possibly an RF frequency can be generated around 6000 on your engine that EDIS is sensitive to. I had an interference/glitch when my turn signal switch was engaged, the interfer...

Setup/preference.

4 cyl, not bad to have 4 lines and a vacuum canister, as long as we are talking separate runners/carbs. 6 cyl it gets messy, 8 REAL messy. Common manifold MAP just makes sense, it is easy and accurate for load-based advance.

That is just my opinion, your mileage may vary :D

If you have a throttle body or carb with a common manifold, I would go MAP sensor. It doesn't really matter how much vacuum you have, just that there is some change that the sensor can show to the Megajolt. If you have six individual runners, I would go TPS. I did this with Webers on a flat four wit...

Thanks! Paint was done in March of this year. Also added a gas heater with defrost vents too.

Motor puts out 180 hp @ 6000 on Megajolt v3. 147 ft. lbs. of torque just above 3000.

Car weighs 1450 lbs. with a half-tank of gas and no driver.

The MAP sensor MUST be plumbed on the engine side of the throttle plates. It must be somewhere in the intake manifold. If you have 6 Webers, just use a TPS. My engine has 4 Weber throats, and the carbs are oon opposite sides of the engine, all with individual runners. One TPS mount and it was done, ...
