Or even try the 'favorite' port a few times first, then fall back to searching all if nothing was found (in case I blindly plug into the wrong USB port sometime).

So for us MK1 people, all we need is the CANx expander board? That will let us grab broadcasts from the Megasquirt? At today's autocross event, I was thinking it's about time to get everything logged onto one SD card, and synchronized... And using RCP's GPS clock make more sense than adding a standa...

My MK1 on 2.8.2 will do it press after press, without powercycling. Default config (console resetConfig issued a few days ago). GPS has been slowed down to 1Hz to reduce console chatter. I end up with every other file at zero bytes, and a red light at the beginning. I'm on the serial port console, l...

Similar results on my MK1 on 2.8.2. Not 100% sure what firmware version the issue started with, but I'm suspecting 2.8.0 because notes say I was testing that version on 5/7/15. Now it looks like every buttonpress gets a red blink or two, and a 0-byte file, then the real file picks up afterward. Here...

Our RCP is on a '90 silver Miata with a 1.8 swap. :) what ECU are you using - does the motor have VVT? We're on megasquirt with VVT, haven't been to the dyno yet.

This is a non-official answer. :) In Windows Device Manager, does it show up as a COM port when you plug it in by USB, before trying to use the RCP app? If so, you can probably talk to it by a terminal program (like putty or termite), and then send the command 'resetConfig' to put it back to factory...

I'm betting the spikes that show up on the digital samples are really there in analog land, but your analog samplerate of 625khz is too slow to show the noise clearly. You can start to see a disturbance at the low side of the analog trace, that usually syncs up with a spike in digital-land. Also (wi...

You say you're wired to the battery, but battery voltage displays 4.5V? Sounds like you're running from a USB adapter instead of +12V right to the RCP?

Does your SD card have a write-protect switch that might have slid when the card went into the RCP?

Following up on this, and sorry if it's been suggested already. I'm an autocrosser. We can't take the car (or the hardwired RCP) on track until actual timed runs, but we can do course walks. Would it be possible for the mobile app to have a "HERE" button for each coordinate box (start/fini...

Just brainstorming.. if you can get a logic pulse (0-5V or 0-12V) out of your IR sensor, you could hook that to a GPIO input on the RCP, then log that channel at high speed to find start/finish crossing times in your logs. Could maybe use a LUA script to do your own lap timing too. I haven't read up...

Tested this afternoon with auto-detect turned off, just coordinates stored for the start/finish line 43.0957,-73.747. It worked great, and I didn't get arrested for suspicious behavior. GPSVisualizer.com provided this map from the RCP logfile data, with GPS coordinates / track colorized by lap count...

I've been doing it by starting with one of the existing track .JSON files, editing it in notepad, then saving as a new filename (same number of characters but make it unique so it doesn't get overwritten later). Filename characters seem to be limited to 0-9 and a-f (hexdecimal characters). On my Win...

It works! MK1 2.7.8, latest beta android app via bluetooth. Distance counts up once I've crossed start/finish, and lapcount increments as expected. My 3rd lap was slower because I was following a snowplow slaloming around garbage cans at the curb. And I got blue-flagged at an intersection and had to...
