USB PORT ON PLUG END OF RACECAPTURE PRO MK3

I have been helping a buddy get his Racecapture set-up in his Miata. We are removing the gauge cluster and going to a Pi dash set-up. We plan on mounting the RaceCapture unit in the area where the stereo would normally be and make a block off plate. The problem we ran into is that we wanted to have the SD card and Action button face outward and have a plate block off the area, but the USB port to feed the Pi dash (Yes, I know it is also used to connect the PC to the RaceCapture) is also on this side of the RaceCapture. Can a second USB port be added to the back-side of the RaceCapture, or can the CAN plug be used to feed a device like a Pi dash?
