Mods for TPS

Post by Northy »

Hi,

I'm just about to start gathering parts for my MJLJ, what alterations are needed to use a TPS?

Cheers

TPS mod

Graham,

Essentially you replace the pressure sensor with the tps (straight swap). There are forums which explain how to do this! Do a search on TPS.

D5 vs D7 & Q2 vs Q8

Post by Jax2A »

Tailharder,
Reviewing your site on the TPS mods, I came up with two contradictions;

In the text of the "Throttle Position Sensor Modification - Wires in place of MAP sensor" section you stated to remove D5 & Q2 though they are shown in all your photos. However D7 & Q8 are not on your boards. Latter on the "Connecting up" section you stated the red wire goes to where D7 used to be. Is this just a typo? I'm thinking it is D7 & Q8 that isn't used. Is this correct? Thanks,

Typo!

Hi Jack (I've emailed you direct too),

You are correct in assuming it's a typo. You need to remove Q8 and D7 as shown in the photos. I have no idea why I wrote D5 & Q2 initially, but I've now corrected it :o)
