Which mounting orientation matches the default accelerometer configuration?

Which way should point forward, in direction of travel, 1, 2, 3, 4, so that the mounting orientation matches the default accelerometer configuration?

Assuming AccelX is in the forward direction of travel, which way should the unit be mounted to match the standard/default configuration?

The default orientation is to have the terminal block facing towards the front of the car, and with race capture mounted upright.

In this orientation, X axis measures left and right accelerometer, Y measures fore and aft G Forces, and z measures vertical G's (gravity).

You can swap axis and orientations in Race Analyzer to suit different mounting configurations.

On the short list is to document this in the instructions and get some interactive visualization of the orientation in Race Analyzer as you swap the axis.

Also, we're working on exposing the auto-calibration feature in RaceAnalyzer as well.

Thanks!

Thanks for the clarification, good to hear that the default orientation corresponds to terminal block facing forwards, as that just happens to be the most convenient mounting location/orientation in my car. :)

Documented. Needs pictures and/or diagram. Anyone want to contribute one?
