GPS Speed Jumps

Post by dimondjack »

I've had some trouble getting my distances to match up while taking my data on my kart, and I think I may have figured out why. I seem to have very large speed jumps in the GPS data (which I'm usuing to calc distance). Has anyone else noticed this?

I've found a slight (or perhaps more than slight) correlation to when my unit finds/loses GPS satellites. Is this common, and is it because I have mounted it on the floor of the kart where the fairing can move in the view of the GPS unit as I travel on track?

That is interesting. What have you found when you've repositioned the GPS module on the kart?
