Another Tacho Problem??

Post by Rick122s »

Hi, I've got one of those aftermarket tacho's with the 4, 6 and 8 switch on the back. But it doesn't matter which one I have it on, the reading is wrong. 4 cylinder reads lower than what the software is saying it is. 500 rpm or so, maybe a bit more. On 6 or 8 it's way too high. Is this a problem with my base timing (which seems to be spot on at 10°)? It doesn't seem to matter if I have the tach hooked up to the megajolt output or the EDIS pin 11, the result is the same.
Sorry if this has been answered before, I searched but couldn't find anything specific.
Cheers

There could be a calibration problem with your tach. Try a different unit, or a different brand of aftermarket tach?
