aux input 5v?

I didnt think to check before but after i cut the R6 trace( maybe to good) im getting 3-5v on the input without anything hooked up to it. need help ASAP im going to use it as a on/off switch so i can set the timing at 0 drgree when i put the boat in and out gear. im using it as a shift interemter. it wont shift without it. please help

anyone got any ideas? if i cant get the aux input to work im going to use the outputs to cut the coil power on and off at 500rpm and hope that will reduced the power of the engine enough to alo me to shift in and out of gear smoothly.
