Using tach adapter with a Megajolt

Post by fastg »

I am driving the ignition on a Rover 4.6 V8 using the Ford EDIS setup, that works great. The engine is in a Triumph TR8, I am trying to drive the stock tach. So far I an getting no tach needle movement. So to start I would like to know the expected output from the adapter board. Using just a digital volt meter I am getting 12v at idle and up to 19v when I blip the throttle. Does that sound about right?

Thanks

Graham

I guess I will answer my own post. There are some automotive digital volt meters that have a rpm scale. I was able to use that to get a reading out of the adapter board, it appears to be sending the correct signal, so the problem must be downstream on the adapter.
