RaceCapture Pi

When I saw the RaceCapture Raspberry pi wiki I thought it was pretty neat. I had to give it a try so I ordered a 3b+ and 7 inch touchscreen.
Everything came today, was probably a 15 minute project, if you don't count pulling the downloads.
Everything worked as the Wiki lays out (used Raspbian Stretch Lite) and was super fun since I hadn't done one of these before.

Fantastic!

Thanks for the great how-to,

Alan

I second the ease of the Pi. I now have 3 running. 1 on the bench, one now installed and ready to go, and 1 that I need to put into the other car before it's next race in March.

Best possible HDMI display for Raspberry PI (Stretch Lite)?

+1 on being very happy with the Raspberry PI RC setup.

What is the highest quality HDMI 7" Display others are using or recommending? The standard screen isn't great in bright sunlight.

Thanks,
Tom

Not maybe what you had in mind, but have a look at the xenarc line: https://www.xenarc.com/LED-LCD-Monitors/

They have a range of "sunlight-readable" LCDs, some are weatherproof.
