Raspberry Pi - error reading configuration

Post by 85glht »

Raspberry Pi 3b+ and 7 inch touchscreen, RaceCapture Track MK1 - bench testing
- Rasbian stretch lite 2018-03-13
- RaceCapture/Track MK1 2.17.0
- RaceCapture 1.16.0

Symptoms - on application startup, the status displays connecting/searching/Reading Configuration and an error displays at the bottom, "error reading configuration. check your connection"

1. If I run through the first time setup and specify the RaceCapture Track Mk1, a connection is successful via USB.

2. If I open a saved configuration and write it, the status changes to connected and appear to function as expected with the ability to write.

This most recent firmware/app version has maintained a much more consistent connection. Based on polled log observations, the USB stream appears to be interrupted by wifi and gps connection problems.

It sounds like you're saying the latest firmware / app is working best for you.

However, it is worth noting that the latest firmware for RaceCapture/Track MK1 fixes an issue when reading configuration in cases where too many CAN channels were loaded (>10). Once the latest firmware is applied, this problem should go away.
