In service failure, now won't start, fault finding.

Post by SteveA »

I've had a Megajolt system on my car, six cylinder Triumph, for the past two years or so and all was well with it when I put the car away on Monday, but when I went to start it again on Friday it refused to start. There is plenty of fuel getting through, but no sign of any spark at the plugs.
With my computer connected, I can get the ignition configuration from the Megajolt unit and see the load move a bit when turning the engine over, but there is no sign of movement on the RPM readout.
I have confirmed there is power to the coil and Megajolt unit and the wires are intact between the crank sensor and the EDIS6 unit. If there any way of checking the operation of the crank sensor, coil pack and EDIS6 unit?

Thanks,
Steve

If the RPM isn't moving then your problem is somewhre on the trigger side of the EDIS module. Best guess your trigger wheel or crank sensor has moved a shade and is no longer picking up cleanly. If that all looks good check the crank sensor wiring.
