8th Gen Honda Civic (06-11) CAN PIDs

Post by actarnoff »

Anyone ever grab these? I tried S2k CAN PIDs hoping Honda reused them, but that wasn't the case. I also tried to log CAN BUS data using the canned script (confirmed the Honda CAN operates at 500k), but to no avail. That just locks it (RaceCapture MK2/Track) up and requires a power cycle to unlock it.

Any help, or insight would be great.

Based on what some other brands are able to do, it looks like there could be some useful data available.

It's a bit of a job to reverse engineer the CAN bus but it is possible.

Looking around, I think the CAN bus might be 250kbit/sec, and the Honda Civic might be using the following CAN IDs:

1684 (0x694)
1172 (0x494)
404 (0x194)

Why don't you try capturing these bytes while doing specific things with the car (based on the channels below) and see what you get. Based on Aim's documentation (https://www.aim-sportline.com/download/ ... 03_eng.pdf), I think you should be able to get the following channels:

RPM
Vehicle speed
Throttle position
Pedal position
Engine Coolant temperature
Intake air temperature
Brake switch
Brake pressure
Front Left Wheel Speed
Front Right Wheel Speed
Rear Left Wheel Speed
Rear Right Wheel Speed
Manifold air pressure
