Megajolt 32-1/60-2 convertion

Post by boldy205 »

Hi, is it possable to run my Megajolt which runs on 36-1 triggerwheel to a 60-2 setup so i can incorporate the standard flywheel triggerwheel?
Thanks
Matt

Unfortunately the trigger wheel configuration is dictated by Ford's EDIS unit, not the MJLJ ECU - and it'll only work with 36-1.
Does your flywheel have a reluctor ring you can remove and alter, or is it drilled/machined with teeth?

Trigger wheels

Post by boldy205 »

Hi, thanks for the reply. My engine flywheel has a 60-2 wheel machined on it so would therefore would be easyer/ neater to use this and the standard pickup. (its a 306 GTi6 engine that used to have injection/ignition controled by ECU and i am converting it to Carbs and Megajolt)
Thanks
Matt

It may be possible to divide the pickup signal by two, this would be a "low level" signal so it would be prone to interference.
A simple bi stable is what you're after, you would still need to get the "gap" in the right place for your engine's number of cylinders.
