Problem with your system.

Post by 4600cc »

Steve,

This particular error relates to NSIS installer I used. Very few people will get this. This error relates to the temporary folder, and there could be a problem with your Windows installation. Such as the drive is full, damaged, or something else.

Read this: link

Things you should do:

a) Double click My Computer, select drive C: and right click, and click properties, then click Check disk making sure to select both checkboxes when check disk dialog popsup, and then when done clean up disk.
b) Download all the latest Windows updates.
c) Check your disk space, perhaps you need a disk upgrade.

The good news is that probably you're the only one who'll experience this problem. Please keep us posted as to what happens after you done all the suggested steps.

Real Time Display

Post by SRandle »

Software works fine and installed ok.

But when running the real time display the figures do not change. You get a first reading but then does not update.

Regards

Steve.

Yes, new problem.

There appears to be a problem in that area. I am working on it and patch or another version will be released.

Devide by 0

Post by 4600cc »

It appears there are some devisions by 0 inside the state data puller thread. These errors are silent unless cought, so the thread would just terminate without error given. The above mentioned thread used execute stabily for a while, so perhaps this is one of the random things, depending on the data fed. Not a big deal, I will release a fix so you all can enjoy the application without the bugs.

Please continue testing mjtuner, I don't have a megajolt installed on my mustang, I can not fully test my software.

The fix is the same.

It says that there is a problem with the TEMP folder.

a) Drive is full
b) Drive is damaged

For some reason the files can not be extracted into the TEMP folder. It is a problem with the installer (NSIS), and you'd get the same error with other installers. Just clean up your drive and check it for errors.

problem with my system

Post by flashrs1988 »

Hi Al just to let you know I have had no luck with getting theMegajolt Lite Jr Tuner 0.2.2.1250_preview Installer to work under win98se. In took your advice and tested my system but could find no real faults? Thinking that there must be some underling fault I formatted the drive and reinstalled win98se but to my dismay I still get the same error.
I have installed win2000 on to my system and the 0.2.2.1250_preview works fine but unfortunately you poor old laptop doesn’t, so I’m back with win98es ….?
I now have 0.2.2.1251_preview (archive) witch has installed no problems at all, and is now up and running ok.
Thanks for solving the installation problem.
Will keep you posted on testing

Cheers

Steve.

Archive will work.

Post by 4600cc »

That is interesting. I'm sorry for making you ditch your old OS. I'll be getting my system back together, I work on P3 laptop now, once I get the real system up and running I could test every OS that there is using VMWare. I haven't decided on the official MLJT installer, I could still go with Windows MSI, which in theory should work on all systems as long as you install the MSI installer.

Now, the archive that you downloaded is not installer, it is just program files along with docs zipped in a folder that you extract and use. The installer is those files, along with scrips that install files into program files folder and create shortcuts, registry keys, and program data. In the feature, installer will be a must, but for now, we can distribute the application using an archive.

hello

when using my lap top (on xp) and it goes into standby mode it wont come out of it when the tuner is running, it does this everytime. The only way out of it is to hold down the power button and force it to turn off and restart

i dont know if anyone else is having this problem?

Great updates though, im especially enjoying the improved runtime display

v1260

Post by chriscook »

On friday I took my cra to the Rolling road to be mapped. I started off running the 1260 software but it kept crashing when starting/stopping the runtime display. So I went back to Brent's original software which was fine.

The main comment from the guy doing the tuning was that he wanted to be able to adjust the map values in the runtime display while the engine is running and not have to switch between screens.

How was it crashing?

How was it crashing? Any dialog boxes popped up?

In any case, the program is getting reworked. I don't like it, it's not what I had in mind. As far was editing at runtime, it's possible, I'll be implementing that.

There is only one dialog box

Post by 4600cc »

There is only one dialog box there and it says:

Runtime display failure

Error while pulling ignition state data. This can occur if megajolt went off line, or was disconnected. Press Retry to retry a pull, press Cancel to stop Runtime Display.

What it means is that Megajolt was "disconnected". Runtime display will wait a maximum of 2 seconds before reporting Megajolt as disconnected. It simply means it was unable to get state data. This can happen if a) Megajolt was actually disconnected, b) serial cable is bad, c) Megajolt looses power temporary due to bad wiring.

Brent's software has higher tolerance for this. (50 ms vs 500 ms times 2 seconds for timeout, 100 times longer)

It could be a number of things, but if that is actually the message box you seen, and there is only one that says Retry or Cancel, then there is nothing wrong with MJTUNER, it's something else.

The upcoming version will ditch dial boxes, there will be just a textual warning and no user interference will be necessary in order to continue recieving state data.
