Another Megajolt powered mini gets back on the road!

Post by Jonno »

Here's a couple of pictures of my mini - a long time coming, but now all those years' work seem worth it!
1275 MG metro engine, Stage 3 head, MJLJ, Maniflow LCB & Playmini 2" system. Sounds great!

Thanks for the kind words.

After seeing some of the other posts, I thought I ought to put up a picture of the VR mount / wheel.

It's the best picture I've got. I welded up the bracket from 25x25x3 steel angle, and it comes off the two through bolts of the engine
mount bracket.

There's no adjustment, so I was quite happy with 1 degree out!. I had the pulley machined with the 36-1 teeth, and
it works fine. I know that it is on the part of the pulley after the rubber damper, but it's not a high revving motor, so should be OK.

Might save up for a shiny KAD one, though...

An update 8 years later!

Hi all,
The mini now lives with me in Melbourne, and has had a few small modifications..
Suzuki G13b engine and box, with Modena LSD, slicks and Megasquirt!
I am still using the EDIS-4 module, coil pack and VR sensor to handle the sparking though.
I use it for hillclimbing, and have been winning quite a few events.
Still remember fondly getting my head round Megajolt, although that seems very easy now compared with learning the Megasquirt!
Good luck all.
Jon.
