Capri 2.1 Pinto Running (updated pictures)

Post by capri_turbo »

Well... I finally got it fitted and running today. Was a lot easier than I thought it would be too. I have 1 problem though which is quite major... the contact between the EDIS4 and it's multiplug is very poor and the car keeps cutting out and won't restart as a result. Breaking the connection and remaking a few times gets it running, but I can't go on like that... I'll be cleaning it all up tomorrow and will try to tighten the contacts somehow.

Maybe it doesn't lock

Maybe it doesn't lock because the plastic is broken. www.fordfuelinjection.com have new plugs if the price is right for you. It could also be oxidation, which you can cure by sanding, acid, and a coat of electric grease.

It's locking together fine

it is the pins that are loose in the sockets when the thing is together... going to have a fiddle with it later... cleaning and trying to tighten up the pins a bit.

Now running reliably

After a few inital problems with the EDIS connector not making a good contact, the Capri is now up and running on the MJLJ unit and what a difference it has made compared with the distributor...

I'd like to thank Brent for designing the MJLJ unit and 4600cc for his tuning software.
