Post Zetec coolant temp sensor setup
Here is my temp gauge setup on a v4.0.2 for a zetec if anyones intereasted, its quite accurate 0 to 120 deg c. Ideal for driving a fan relay or just keeping an eye on the temp when tuning.
firstly wire in the sensor.
Then sartup the MJLJ cofigurator, go to tools, then auxiliary input options.
change auxilary input lable to Coolant temp & auxiluary
input units to Deg C.
Leave the tick interval as they are set.
Then hit the load calabration tab & browse to the "zetec coolant sensor cal" txt. file that you have downloaded posted below.
Then go to the view tab & select the coolant temp gauge.

Its a bit lumpy around 10-30 deg but quite accurate, calibrated with a reliable thermometer.
Simples eek.

Post Temp sensor input for any engine!
Did this work for anyone?
You can also use it to correct coolant based timing, i found that a cold engine on bike carbs warming up benifits from one or two deg advance when cold, it helps it to idle a bit better & faster after the choke has been turned off. If the engine is hot 90 deg c plus i back off the timing one or two deg, it slows the engine rpm down & reduces knocking/pinking when hot.
And don't forget that a Std Zetec engine management temp sensor will fit any engine! The silver top has a 3/8 bsp thread.
Cheers Leo.
