I have a Classic Mini running megajolt.
I can't get the megajolt to talk to my laptop.
I have bought a few new leads which came with drivers.....laptop says drivers installed fine, but when I open Megajolt configurator, I get no live data or on-screen runtime data.
Help before I rip it all out and go back to a distributor!!
Am I doing something wrong? Laptop connectivity

Hello,
Hopefully this is an easy fix. You'll want to make sure the software is set to use the correct serial port that the USB->Serial adapter is assigned to by Windows.
This part of the Operation Guide should help: http://www.autosportlabs.net/MJLJ_V4_Op ... erial_Port
Let us know what you find out!

Thanks for the reply. Let's narrow this down:
- First of all, does the megajolt power on and can you verify it's controlling the engine's ignition advance? you can verify with a timing light that it's working on the default ignition map.
- what error message do you see at the bottom of the configuration app?
- do you have a different computer to try it on? maybe one with a built-in serial port?
- do you have a different usb-serial adapter you can try? Also, which one are you using?
- did you make your own cable or did you purchase the tuning cable along with the Megajolt?
Thanks,

Thank-you for the fast reply!
Timing does advance by a couple of degrees with a blip of the throttle. I didn't want to give it anything more than a blip as it's already blown a head gasket with the timing set as it is!
I have tried my Mum's laptop with the same results.
I have also used a few different USB-serial cables again with the same results.
I had to make a custom loom for the megajolt as the original that came with the van when i bought it had cables falling out of very poorly terminated crimps.
See screenshots below:
