I have been experimenting with a spdt switch and a variation of the single wire gear indicator idea to build a 'mode' selector switch. I use my car for both DE and autocross, and I may not be launching for a DE event like I would be for an autocross.
I tried to set it up today, but it was too tricky to try and use resistors directly on the switch wiring, so I'm going to build a little board to hold the resistors and try it again tomorrow. Basically, I'm just building a voltage divider to drop 12V down to 5v or 2.5v and then I'll put that into an analog input and have to figure out the Lua coding.
